Position Summary

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with schools, workforce development organizations, and community partners to grow Loenbro’s pipeline of talent in both trade and professional career paths. This role will lead engagement initiatives, manage the company’s mentorship and intern programs, and ensure Loenbro is positioned as an employer of choice within the communities we serve.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of Loenbro’s summer intern program, including recruitment, onboarding, placement, budget, and program evaluation.
  • Represent Loenbro at career fairs and collaborate with HR and recruiting teams to ensure alignment with company recruiting standards and processes (SOP).
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local technical high schools, trade schools, and workforce development boards to promote careers in the skilled trades.
  • Lead the integration of mentorship programs and manage to provide a cohesive, company-wide mentorship experience that supports employee growth and retention.
  • Coordinate company participation in classroom presentations, community trade events, and educational expos to enhance brand awareness and talent engagement.
  • Design and implement joint initiatives with local schools and colleges such as trailer visits, site tours, job-shadow days, and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Partner with business units to ensure exposure opportunities highlight Loenbro’s values, culture, and career paths to attract future interns and apprentices.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in workforce development, community relations, or training coordination will be considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in community engagement, workforce development, recruiting, or related field.
  • Experience building partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating outreach events, career fairs, or educational initiatives.
  • Experience managing internship or mentorship programs preferred.
  • Strong understanding of skilled trades, construction, or engineering industries is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across business units.
  • Passion for workforce development and promoting career opportunities in the trades.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with digital engagement tools.

 

Work Environment & Travel:
This position requires occasional Saturday work and travel to various states for training or operational support. Travel may involve visits to industrial or construction environments.
