Journeyman Electrician — Commissioning Support

Loenbro, LLC seeks a skilled Journeyman Electrician in the Cedar Rapids, IA area to support field commissioning for mission-critical data center projects. This role focuses on safe, accurate execution of switching, energization, and test support during Level 3–5 commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute field commissioning tasks including First Time Energization, switching/LDL for AutoLOTO, minor issue resolution, equipment start-up switching, load bank connection and removal, and general Level 3–5 support.
• Perform and follow approved Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for all Level 3–5 activities.
• Execute AutoLOTO requests and maintain accurate lockout/tagout records for project electrical systems.
• Carry out pre-functional and functional test plans, energization sequences, and integrated systems testing in compliance with approved plans and permits.
• Follow and enforce safety protocols; coordinate with Safety, QA/QC, and Field Operations to mitigate commissioning risks.
• Participate in post-project reviews and incorporate lessons learned into field practices.

Required Qualifications

• Licensed Journeyman Electrician.
• 7+ years of commercial or industrial electrical field experience; data center commissioning experience is highly preferred.
• Proficient with switching practices, LOTO procedures, load bank operations, and MOP adherence.
• Certifications: NFPA 70E and OSHA 10/30 preferred.

Working Conditions

• Based in the Cedar Rapids, IA area with regular onsite construction presence; regional travel as needed.
• Work near energized equipment; must wear required PPE and perform physically demanding tasks including climbing and lifting.
• Operate in active construction environments with strict safety standards.
