Job Summary
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for receiving, verifying, organizing, and distributing materials to support daily production operations. This role ensures all incoming materials match purchase order requirements, maintains accurate inventory within the ERP system, and upholds material traceability standards when required. The Materials Coordinator plays a key role in warehouse organization, material flow, and supporting production scheduling through effective staging and kitting. Safe operation of forklifts and adherence to all safety protocols are essential.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders.
- Label, store, and track materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP or inventory management systems.
- Identify and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies promptly.
- Follow FIFO and proper material‑handling best practices.
- Support QA/QC efforts by ensuring material traceability when required.
- Safely operate forklifts and related material‑handling equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Other duties may be assigned as needed to support business operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Ability to follow FIFO and proper material‑handling best practices
- Experience supporting QA/QC processes, including maintaining material traceability when required
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment
- Commitment to safety procedures, PPE requirements, and maintaining clean/organized work areas
- Participation in safety meetings and continuous improvement activities
- Strong attention to detail when receiving, verifying, and tracking materials
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or inventory systems
- Ability to identify and escalate material shortages, damages, or discrepancies
Preferred:
- Experience kitting materials based on prefab work orders, spools, or assemblies
- Experience staging material kits for production according to schedule and priority
- Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or materials coordination roles
- Familiarity with construction, prefab, or industrial materials environments

Work Environment:
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights)
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks
- Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following: Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day, and standing
