Job Summary
The Pre-Job Planner supports the planning and startup of electrical construction projects by working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, Purchasing, VDC, and Prefabrication teams. This role helps ensure projects are properly scoped, organized, and equipped for successful execution while following company planning standards and processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Support the pre-job planning process for assigned projects.
• Review project documents to help ensure all scope is identified and captured.
• Assist in developing and maintaining project planning documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to support project startup activities.
• Participate in pre-job planning meetings and help track action items.
• Assist with project takeoffs and material planning.
• Coordinate with VDC and Total Station teams to support accurate models and field layouts.
• Work with Prefabrication teams to identify opportunities that improve project productivity and performance.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to support timely material procurement and project buyouts.
• Track lessons learned from active and completed projects to improve future planning efforts.
• Support consistent field installation standards and company best practices.
• Maintain project planning records, reports, and documentation.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years of mechanical/process piping experience
• Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and installation practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with field and office teams.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Preferred

 

• Experience with BIM/VDC, prefabrication, or Total Station workflows preferred.
• Experience with project planning, estimating, project coordination, or field supervision is a plus.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to project success.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Work Environment:

• Indoor office setting with controlled temperature.
• Outdoor industrial sites with exposure to weather extremes.
• Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors.
• Travel requirements: up to 10% of time.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
