Job Summary
Position requires a strong background in development and oversight of a robust safety program and remote EH&S teams. The EH&S Director provides strategic and operational EH&S leadership across Loenbro’s fabrication, manufacturing, and prefabrication facilities. Reporting to the VP of EH&S and working in close partnership with the SVP of Manufacturing, the EH&S Director works with division and shop leadership to implement and maintain the Safety Culture and Programs, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the company and division. The EH&S Director also helps build a culture grounded in Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles: people make mistakes, error is predictable, systems and organizational conditions influence behavior, learning is essential, and leadership response to failure matters.
Job Duties:

- Help establish, implement, and report on annual EH&S goals and metrics with the support of the VP of EH&S.

Programs and Standards
- Implement corporate EH&S programs and standards, identify division specific needs, and coordinate proposed changes through Corporate EH&S.
- Identify gaps and leading practices across facilities and work with Corporate EH&S to develop standardized Fabrication & Manufacturing work practices for areas including material handling, pipe storage and stacking, rigging and lifting, overhead cranes, welding, cutting and hot work, machine guarding, hazardous energy control, powered industrial trucks, electrical safety, compressed gases, industrial hygiene, PPE, chemical management, housekeeping, working at heights, and emergency response.
- Support a controlled process for communicating, training, auditing, and periodically reviewing EH&S standards at division facilities.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to incorporate EH&S into shop layouts, equipment, tooling, material flow, and work methods.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance regarding EH&S requirements that comply with Loenbro and customer standards.
Risk, Audits, and Compliance
- Develop a risk based approach for identifying and managing critical fabrication and manufacturing hazards and high energy exposures.
- Participate in regular job audits, facility inspections, and worksite observations, and ensure corrective actions are prioritized, assigned, tracked, verified, and closed.
- Partner with the Corporate Environmental Director to ensure fabrication and manufacturing facilities comply with applicable environmental requirements, including permitting, waste management, hazardous materials, air emissions, and spill prevention. Support implementation, monitoring, and corrective actions at the facility level.
- Maintain effective processes for regulatory inspections, required records, reporting, and agency interactions.
- Support new facility start ups, expansions, equipment installations, process changes, and acquisition integration from an EH&S perspective.
Incident Management and Reporting
- Support EH&S personnel in establishing and adhering to a schedule for preparing, submitting, reviewing, and accepting all facility safety plans, forms, and incident investigations.
- Oversee timely incident reporting and investigations in accordance with corporate requirements, including appropriate investigation methods, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
- Participate in fact finding Root Cause Analysis for injury and incident investigations and obtain accident and injury reports from facilities. Lead or facilitate significant incident and high potential event reviews and ensure appropriate executive visibility.
- Identify lessons learned and recurring themes, and share them across the division so improvements are implemented.

- Review weekly written reports from EH&S personnel providing an overview of all safety related matters at facilities.
Culture, Training, and Engagement
- Partner with the SVP of Manufacturing and shop leadership to establish HOP principles as a foundational element of the division’s safety and operational culture, including learning teams, pre job discussions, and open reporting of concerns and stop work events.
