Position Summary:
- Lead sourcing strategy for food, beverages, disposables, kitchen supplies, foodservice equipment, vending, catering, dining services, and outsourced foodservice providers.
- Develops and directs an efficient total cost of ownership model which considers many complex variables including but not limited to price, freight, product mark-ups, holding cost, currency, supply volatility.
- Directs the sourcing, quality control and supplier management for all food & beverage supplies sourced in North America. Directs the negotiation of all cost components including product price, freight, payment terms, and delivery terms.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, rebates, service-level agreements, distribution terms, compliance obligations, food safety requirements, and performance guarantees.
- Collaborate with end user departments to define food specifications with a focus on achieving high client satisfaction and reduced costs.
- Provide oversight of food distribution partners in North America and export markets, including direct sourcing responsibility of minimum $140 million of food and beverage purchases.
- Responsible for sustainable and humane sourcing initiatives for food and beverage categories.
- Identify savings, cost avoidance, standardization, supplier consolidation, and operational efficiency while ensuring business continuity and high level of supplier performance.
- Manage spending, supplier, and market data from client and LogicSource resources to effectively benchmark and analyze savings opportunity and value chain impacts.
- Lead all levels of supplier market RFI / RFP activities, including execution, readouts, business case implications and executive-level reporting. Meet with potential participants, both incumbents and non-incumbents, answer RFP related questions from vendors, analyze RFP results, build scorecards, and support final vendor(s) awards.
- Drive annual productivity improvements in each category of expenditure by developing and ensuring implementation of ideas to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) for spend categories.
- Support development of new policies and procedures to drive savings and lead organizational and operational change management within managed categories of spending.
- Leverages LogicSource’s Center of Excellence (COE) category experts and resources through the sourcing process to assess market conditions, spend leverage opportunities, benchmarking data, RFP builds, and related activities.
- Support as well as lead sourcing events, including vendor sourcing, vendor, and contract negotiations.
- Review major contracts for key areas of spend and function as Subject Matter Expert (SME) resource for planning and leading complex negotiations. Create procurement playbook as it relates to cyclical spending.
Required Education and Experience:
- 10 years’ relevant experience in food and beverage procurement including managing key suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, and/or GPO relationships.
- 5 years’ experience in contract development, analyses, and execution.
- 5 years’ experience in logistics activities including ocean/air/road transportation, inventory control, duty free inventory management, and thorough understanding of temperature-controlled environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business discipline or combination of trade experience and education.
- Thought Leader of Supply Chain Management concepts, controls and best practices specifically related to the procurement of food and beverage in the hospitality, entertainment, or restaurant industries.
- Thought Leader in procurement, and food inventory management and optimization.
- Expert knowledge of trends, volatility, and correlation of key food commodity markets.
- Experience interpreting commodity data of government and non-governmental organizations such as Economic Research Service, Bureau of Labor and Statistics, United States Department of Agriculture, Consumer Price Index, Producer Price Index, Urner Barry.
- Expert in food safety standards USDA, USDC, and corresponding regulations as it relates to the import and transit within North America.
- Leads development of procurement and negotiation strategy based on multiple and often complex variables. Negotiates price, availability, transportation, and delivery schedule.
- Expert in analysis, forecasting, problem solving, and quality improvement. Ensure total costs are identified and optimized throughout the entire procurement process.
- Expert, in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with client and LogicSource personnel from all seniority levels.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to business stakeholder questions.
Travel: This position travels up to 5% of the time.

NOTE: The listed compensation range reflects the anticipated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on location, experience, and job-related factors, and may include additional benefits consistent with applicable pay transparency laws.
Pay Range
$125,000 - $185,000 USD
