We’re building the world’s largest alternative asset manager the smart way and are seeking dynamic professionals who want to be part of this journey.

We’re looking for a Real Estate Accountant to support a growing portfolio of SFR and multifamily assets across institutional investment vehicles. This role sits at the intersection of property operations, fund accounting, and asset management — giving you exposure to both property-level performance and portfolio-level decision-making. If you enjoy working with large datasets, digging into variances, and partnering with operators to understand what’s driving performance, this is a high-impact opportunity to grow within a scaling platform.

What You’ll Own

Portfolio & Property-Level Accounting

  • Prepare journal entries and financial data uploads across multiple investment vehicles
  • Work with large datasets (1K–25K+ lines) tied to property-level activity

Reconciliations & Financial Accuracy

  • Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure clean, accurate financials across assets and funds

Property Manager Oversight

  • Review and approve weekly draw requests for operating expenses and capex
  • Partner with third-party property managers to ensure accuracy and alignment

Variance Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze financials and investigate unusual trends or variances
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reporting for senior leadership and investors

Tax & Compliance Tracking

  • Maintain property tax tracking and ensure timely, accurate payments
  • Support adherence to internal accounting policies and controls

Cash Flow & Forecasting

  • Partner with Capital Markets to support cash forecasting across investment vehicles

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Asset Management, Property Management, and Finance teams
  • Act as a key bridge between operations and accounting

What Makes Someone Successful Here

  • You’re comfortable working with high-volume, property-level data
  • You enjoy digging into the “why” behind the numbers, not just reporting them
  • You can balance accuracy + speed in a deadline-driven environment
  • You’re proactive in partnering with operators and stakeholders
  • You like being in a role that blends accounting + business insight

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting experience within real estate (SFR, multifamily, or property management)
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with GL/property management systems
  • Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Propertyware and/or NetSuite
  • Exposure to fund-level or institutional real estate accounting
  • Experience working with third-party property managers

Why This Role

  • Exposure to institutional-quality real estate portfolios
  • Opportunity to work across property, portfolio, and fund-level accounting
  • High visibility with asset management and capital markets teams
  • Flexible work environment (remote or hybrid)
  • Strong benefits + 401(k) match + flexible PTO (3-week minimum)

Why Join Longmark Group?

At Longmark Group, our innovative strategies and culture empower every team member to make meaningful contributions and drive exceptional outcomes for investors and communities alike. Joining Longmark means joining a company that values expertise, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
