Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Developer to serve as a technical leader on our team. You will play a central role in architecting and delivering the robust, scalable, and resilient systems that form the backbone of our product. The ideal candidate will embrace continuous learning, mentor other engineers, and drive innovation. Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of complex, large-scale distributed systems on cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Provide end-to-end engineering solutions for critical projects, from initial design to production deployment and support.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Set technical direction and establish best practices for backend development, testing, and deployment.
- Build and optimize data-intensive applications using distributed messaging/streaming platforms (Kafka, Flink, Spark) and advanced caching (Redis, Pinot).
- Master our CI/CD and Kubernetes infrastructure to enable modern, reliable deployment strategies.
- Partner with product management and other cross-functional leads to define technical roadmaps and deliver significant customer value.
- Champion the use of AI to improve developer efficiency, automate tasks, and enhance our solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of demonstrated expertise designing and building mission-critical backend systems in an enterprise cloud software company.
- Expert-level knowledge of Java/J2EE, Vert.x and scripting languages like Python.
- Strong, hands-on experience architecting and managing solutions on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Proven experience with distributed messaging and EDA.
- Mastery of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), advanced caching (Redis), and data modelling.
- Proficiency with modern development tools (Cursor, VSCode), CI/CD (GitLab CI), and observability platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki).
- Expertise with reactive streams (RxJava) and libraries like Lombok, Guice, and jOOQ.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineers.
- Outstanding communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000 with an annual target bonus.
