Position Summary
The Associate Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting the organization’s data engineering activities, enterprise reporting through Microsoft Power BI, and help maintain IT/OT and data analytics applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing ELT/ETL processes using various data engineering tools, have a solid foundation of data warehousing concepts, and know how to build reports/dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. This is a hybrid-based position requiring employee presence, on site 50-100%.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support data engineering activities and assist with maintaining existing data integrations to various systems.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines to transform data into usable information for the organization.
- Assist with maintaining LOTTE’s Data Warehouse and Data Lake – this also includes writing solution abstracts and documenting all associated components.
- Implement best practices for data management, including data governance, data quality, and data security.
- Monitor and optimize data workflows to ensure performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for analytics solutions.
- Design and develop interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI – tailoring them to specific stakeholder needs.
- Support existing IT/OT analytic applications – assist with maintaining validated applications in an audit ready state.
- Generate documentation including design specifications, work instructions, and knowledge-based articles.
- Provide administrative support to analytical applications such as AVEVA PI, ProcessPad, JMP, InfoBatch, and eForms.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related Engineering and/or Analytics disciplines preferred.
- 1-3 years of work experience in a data engineering and/or data analytics role – Biologics production (process development and/or manufacturing), or medical devices preferred and is a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office Applications
- Excellent problem-solving, presentation, verbal, and written communications skills
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Experience with data engineering activities, ETL/ELT processes, data integrations, and experience with APIs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts – Audits, Fact Tables, Metric Marts, and knowledge of database administration best practices.
- Experience in working with Azure Data Factory – Building, managing, and running pipelines. Connecting to a variety of data sources, on-prem and cloud.
- Knowledge of SQL – Demonstrated ability to write stored procedures, functions, create/ properly use indexes, CTEs, advanced sub-queries, views, and advanced knowledge of query performance optimization.
- Experienced in creating Microsoft Power BI reporting – data source modeling, DAX, and building dashboards end-to-end.
- Team player – open to sharing expertise with team members and learning.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision but provide escalation when needed.

Physical Demands
Work within all Site Facilities, which requires one to give a high attention to detail and on occasion to properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
This position is based indoors and the employee will primarily be working with others, but also independently. This position requires employee presence, on site 50-100%. This position is a team & project-based position that will require occasional shift work, weekends, and holidays.

$60,000 - $88,000 USD
