This role will report to the Director of CMC, Project Management.
About the role
Loyal is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of CMC Project Management to support the development of FDA-approved longevity therapeutics. This role will focus on advancing drug substance and drug product programs from development through registration, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management capabilities, deep understanding of pharmaceutical development processes, and the ability to align complex CMC activities with broader program goals.
You will be reporting to our Director of CMC, Project Management
Your daily work will include
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional CMC project teams across the full product lifecycle—from development to pre-commercialization.
- Serve as a key liaison between CMC, Program Management, and cross-functional stakeholders to align project strategy, timelines, and deliverables.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project status, risk identification, and resolution strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project plans, timelines, and key interdependencies using appropriate tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Gantt Charts).
- Manage multiple CMC projects to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget, providing visibility when milestones are at risk.
- Support and represent CMC functions in project teams; coordinate deliverables across formulation, analytical, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, supply chain and full program team members.
- Proactively identify and escalate risks, delays, and scope changes to senior leadership; propose actionable mitigation plans.
- Partner with CMC leadership to drive resolution and manage contingency planning.
- Ensure accurate budgeting and financial tracking; communicate budget variances to Finance and Executive leadership.
- Contribute to long-range planning and resourcing for CMC projects.
- Coordinate with CDMOs and external vendors to ensure timely execution of CMC activities and high-quality deliverables.
- Monitor performance and alignment with project goals and contractual expectations.
- Create and deliver clear, concise dashboards, presentations, and written updates tailored to different stakeholder levels—from technical teams to executive leadership.
- Document and track meeting agendas, minutes, and action items to ensure accountability and alignment.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred. PMP Certification ideal, although not required.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry, with at least 3 years in project management (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Proven experience with drug substance and drug product development and commercialization, with a focus on oral solid dosage forms. Experience with other dosage forms is ideal.
- Deep understanding of CMC processes across development stages and regulatory expectations.
- Strong grasp of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Gantt charts, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Proficient in Google Suite preferred.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and risk-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical and strategic information across organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, anticipate challenges, and proactively develop solutions.
- Commitment to quality, integrity, and ethical conduct in pharmaceutical R&D and commercialization.

Salary Range: $112,000 - $168,000
