Loyal is a clinical-stage veterinary medicine company developing drugs intended to extend the lifespan and healthspan of dogs. Our mission is to help dogs live longer, healthier lives.
We’ve already achieved significant milestones on our path to earning FDA approval for the first lifespan extension drug for any species. We have three products in our pipeline and are on track for FDA conditional approval within the next year.

About the role
The Senior Director, Program Manager will play a pivotal role in bringing one of our longevity drug pipelines through FDA approval and expanding Loyal’s portfolio.
You will be the go-to point of contact for all program-related activities, lead the program team in formulating strategies that align with corporate goals, and lead efforts in building and scaling the program management/project management infrastructure. You will work closely with the senior executive team.
This role is for someone looking to leverage their knowledge of program management to help transform Loyal into a commercial enterprise. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative team player and requires strategic leadership, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a willingness to learn multiple disciplines.
You will report to our Chief R&D Officer.
Your daily work will include:
- Serve as the program spokesperson.
- Own program timeline, understand dependencies, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Lead cross-functional discussions to ensure timely and proactive discussions around risks, status, opportunities, and mitigation/acceleration strategies.
- Work closely with functional leads to ensure team projects are completed on time, within budget, and maintain quality standards.
- Escalate program issues that can impact timelines or cost. Lead discussions with functional leads to develop solutions and propose mitigation strategies to the executive team.
- Collaborate with functional leadership to assign best-aligned SME for project needs and set clear goals/objectives for each project team member.
- Lead and coach teams to break down silos, encourage collaboration, and ensure the program strategy aligns with broader company initiatives.
- Create presentations, memos, and dashboards to communicate program status to general, technical, or executive audiences.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree required with a specialization in science, engineering, or health related field; advanced degree is a plus not required. PMP, or other project management certification is a plus but not required.
- 10+ yrs of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or life science field.
- Knowledgeable in discovery, preclinical development, clinical trial activities, CMC & commercialization.
- Enjoy thinking creatively, anticipating challenges, and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Effective, concise verbal and written communication style, from general to executive audiences.
- Highly collaborative individual who fosters open communication and possesses strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take initiative and execute on time-sensitive needs.
- Enjoys & has a successful track record in coaching/mentoring new PMs.
Salary range: $200,000 - $240,000
