Position: Levenfeld Pearlstein is seeking an innovative, forward‑thinking Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to lead the firm’s growth strategy, elevate client engagement, and strengthen the firm’s competitive position in the marketplace. As a key member of the Executive Team, the CBDO will shape and execute the firm’s business development vision, integrate pricing and value‑based strategies, deepen relationships with top clients and prospects, and partner closely with the firm’s Chief Marketing Officer, practice leaders, attorneys, and the executive team to advance revenue‑generating initiatives.
This executive role requires a sophisticated understanding of the legal industry, emerging market forces, operational drivers of profitability, and the dynamics of high‑impact client development.

- Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Driving firmwide initiatives focused on client expansion, industry specialization, and diversification of revenue streams.
- Collaborating with executive leaders to develop pricing strategy & value delivery
- Market Expansion & Client Development
- Identifying and evaluating high‑impact market opportunities, strategic alliances, and growth channels.
- Overseeing the development of key‑client programs, client interviews, and client‑feedback mechanisms to enhance retention.
- Revenue Enablement & Pursuit Leadership
- Overseeing pitch strategy, pipeline development, proposal management, and RFP responses across the firm.
- Directing high‑stakes pursuits, cross‑practice opportunities, and strategic presentations to enhance win rates.
- Attorney Coaching & Enablement
- Providing executive‑level coaching to attorneys on business planning, client relationship development, cross‑selling, and pricing strategies.
- Supporting Practice Group Leaders in executing growth plans, managing pipelines, and identifying high‑value targets.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or JD strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10–15+ years of experience in business development leadership within a professional services or legal environment.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing firmwide growth strategies, pricing models, and client‑centric business initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, change‑management, and executive influencing skills.
- Experience leading high‑performing teams and complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
- Strong grasp of legal market economics, profitability drivers, pricing methodologies, and competitive positioning.
Salary and benefits: The annual salary range for this position is $275,000-$325,000. LP believes this is the pay range it will pay for this position at the time of posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be contingent on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant and the requirements of the position. LP offers generous compensation and benefits packages, including medical, dental and vision benefits, paid parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and eligibility for performance-based bonuses.
