Help Desk Associate

Position Summary:

The Help Desk Technician is an IT professional with a focus on supporting Hardware and Software platforms. This role will provide maintenance of the computer desktop and laptop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal Help Desk. The role will be responsible for internal support of PCs, printers, and first line of defense troubleshooting connectivity issues before escalating to IT Engineering.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support One Drive, Citrix, Microsoft 365, Teams, Windows 10 and 11 support, Active Directory password resets, VPN, Mobile Device Email, MFA (Google Authenticator), and printer installs.
  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software
  • Show excellent customer service and communication skills=
  • Provide helpdesk support remotely and onsite through ConnectWise ticketing system.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions in ticketing systems
  • Provide helpdesk support and resolve problems to end user’s satisfaction.
  • Maintain communications with customers during the problem resolution process.
  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT help desk
  • Monitor email and ticket tracking system for tickets assigned to the queue and process based on priority
  • Report issues needing escalation to Lead/Manager for resolution
  • Image computers and work with end users to upgrade equipment

Desired Competency, Experience, and Skills:

  • A+, Net+ and Microsoft Desktop Systems and IT Support certifications preferred
  • Track-IT, MRI, Cisco Anyconnect VPN, Remote Desktop and Bomgar support appliance experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 10. and Microsoft Office (2010/2013 versions) desktop operating systems and Office Suites
  • Active Directory Users and Groups (Level 1)
  • At least 2 years proven help desk and PC support experience required
  • Proven track record of working with third party vendors for procurement and issue resolution
  • Prior experience supporting Active Sync
  • Familiarity with ShoreTel/Mitel VOIP phones system
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong problem solving skills in an IT support setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical information/concepts in non-technical, easy to understand terms
  • Ability to interact and communicate in a professional manner with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in stressful situations, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to be involved in all aspects of IT, including the flexibility to travel locally and assist in after-hours projects
