Senior Accountant

Dallas, TX

The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for assisting in the monthly close for their assigned region/markets. You will ensure accuracy and timeliness of the monthly financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare property billings & revenue recognition
  • Track billings to ensure all expected billings are completed monthly
  • Manage and maintain GAAP based general ledgers
  • Prepares monthly accruals, reclasses, and other required JEs
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations including AR, Pursuit Costs, Deposits, Intercompany, etc.
  • Updates commissions schedules and calculate commission payments
  • Understand and abstract new contracts for entry into Oracle
  • Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for assigned markets
  • Handles other duties as assigned by Controller

Desired Competency, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience; Commercial property accounting preferred
  • Solid understanding of GAAP financials
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • High degree of professionalism in addition to excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet tight deadlines
  • High proficiency in EXCEL
