Senior Product Manager — Sherpa Drone Platform

Charlotte, NC

At Lucid Bots, our Product Managers work at the intersection of cutting-edge robotics and real-world problem-solving—collaborating with customers, engineers, sales, marketing, and production teams to build world-class autonomous systems.

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, results-driven Senior Product Manager with a relentless focus on customer needs and a bias for action. If you thrive in fast-moving environments, love solving complex challenges, and are eager to drive meaningful impact, we want to hear from you.

In this high-impact role, you’ll own and scale the Sherpa Drone Platform—one of the world’s most advanced UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems). You’ll lead strategy, execution, and expansion, working cross-functionally across engineering, sales, and marketing to shape the future of aerial robotics.

Join us in redefining what’s possible. Let’s build the future, today.

About the Sherpa:

  • The Sherpa is a heavy-lift, tethered, waterproof UAS platform built in the USA, originally engineered to haul heavy hoses and spray chemicals to clean buildings and windows. We are expanding its use-cases and scaling the product commercially
  • We have sold ~300 units with 200,000+ operating minutes across all units deployed
  • We have sold products around the globe and are rapidly expanding

Product Strategy

You will focus on four key strategic areas:

  • Customer-Centric Solutions: Drive transformative value by enabling high-ROI applications that solve critical safety and efficiency challenges in dull, dirty, and dangerous jobs.
  • Data-Driven Innovation: Leverage our unique data advantage from robots operating across diverse job sites to enhance AI capabilities and product performance.
  • Modular Platform Development: Continue evolving the Sherpa as part of our Brain, Frames, and Payloads architecture, enabling rapid expansion into new applications and markets.
  • Simple Solutions that Scale: Focus on delivering easy-to-use solutions that can be deployed at scale, maintaining reliability while expanding capabilities. Prioritize features and improvements that support widespread adoption and operational excellence.

How You Win in This Role

  • Obsessed with Opportunity: You wake up every day and see a new opportunity to build something incredible
  • Customer-Obsessed: You anticipate user needs, translate pain points into product insights, and deliver high-impact solutions
  • Own the Product: You’re deeply product-oriented and process driven, with a proven knack for systematizing and scaling operations. You love drones and robotics
  • Get Hands-On: You’re comfortable working outside the traditional PM bubble - you will spend less time behind a computer and more time with customers and experimentation. You will thrive if you like to troubleshoot in realtime under pressure
  • Communicate Exceptionally Well: You present complex technical details in a clear, compelling way to both customers and internal teams. You like to be the hub for product communications across the organization.
  • Fast-Pace isn’t Fast Enough: You love the thrill of ownership in building something that matters and love how fast you need to move to build a world-class product.
  • Double-Dip in Product Marketing: You are great at communicating with sales and marketing and love talking about why the product matters, how we position it and what they need to know to sell it.
  • Iterative, Structured Development: You love efficiency and communicating clear plans for product releases and know what it means to build, measure, learn - repeat.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define, maintain and execute the roadmap for Sherpa. You will push our team to deliver an exceptional product experience for our customers at every chance you get
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with engineering, production, sales, and marketing to make sure what we are building solves real-world problems that matter
  • Customer Engagement & Job Site Visits: Get out of the office early and often to talk to and work with real, live customers who are using the product
  • Scale Yourself: Routinely build and implement new processes and workflows that scale. Document everything.
  • Monitor Market Trends: Keep a watchful eye on the market and competitor movements to ensure Sherpa remains the leading UAS platform
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the product’s lifecycle from iterative improvements to long-term strategic initiatives, balancing customer demands with operational realities
  • Measure & Report: Define clear OKRs, track performance rigorously, and provide data-driven updates to everyone who needs to know about them

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in hardware product management, ideally with experience in robotics, or drone technology. Proven success in sustaining and growing existing product lines is essential.
  • Deep understanding of hardware product development, including iteration cycles, manufacturing constraints, and regulatory requirements.
  • Technical Ability: You will be more effective if you already understand robotics and how they work
  • Proven experience scaling a complex product while balancing reliability, cost-efficiency, and feature innovation.
  • Communication & Presentation: Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences— technical teams, non-technical individual contributors and external customers.
  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional in using data and metrics to inform decision-making, with a history of setting and achieving clear performance goals.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, working across teams to drive alignment and execution.
  • Experience working directly with customers, gathering feedback to drive product improvements and adoption.
  • Education: We value real-world, lived experience and a proven track record of execution excellence over degrees.
  • Hands-On Attitude: A willingness to get involved at every stage—from concept to field testing—reflecting a “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach that goes beyond the desk.
  • Startup Experience: Previous experience working in a startup environment or as a founder of a company is highly preferred
  • Marketing Insight: Demonstrated experience with product marketing, enabling you to contribute to customer acquisition and engagement strategies.
