Goal of This Role:
The Director of Finance leads Lucid Bots’ financial planning, accounting, controls, and reporting functions. This role owns the company’s financial systems and operating rhythms, ensuring accuracy, predictability, and clear insights that enable disciplined growth.
As an organizational leader, the Director of Finance partners closely with Operations, Product, Supply Chain, and People Operations to improve margins, manage budgets, and guide strategic financial decisions. This individual builds a scalable financial foundation for a fast-growing robotics company, while developing a high-performing Finance & Accounting team.
What You’ll Do

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead annual planning, quarterly reforecasts, and scenario modeling.
- Own long-term financial models aligned with company goals and capital strategy.
- Deliver clear financial insights and recommendations to the CEO, leadership team, and the board.
Accounting, Controls & Reporting
- Oversee monthly close, consolidations, and internal reporting.
- Strengthen financial controls, policies, and compliance frameworks.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain readiness for external audits or future fundraising.
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax partners, and financial institutions.
Operational & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on COGS, unit economics, and capital planning.
- Support pricing decisions, product cost analysis, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with People Operations on headcount planning and compensation modeling.
- Provide financial guidance on new product introductions, vendor negotiations, and strategic investments.
Capital Strategy, Fundraising & Financing Partnerships
- Support the CEO in future fundraising processes, including financial modeling, due diligence preparation, and investor communications.
- Evaluate and manage financing options such as equipment financing, venture debt, credit facilities, and strategic capital partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with lenders, financing partners, and potential investors.
- Ensure financial systems, reporting, and controls remain investor-ready and aligned with long-term capital strategy.
Systems, Tools & Process Improvement
- Own financial systems, including ERP usage (Acumatica experience preferred).
- Drive automation to improve reporting speed, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Establish scalable, repeatable financial processes and operating cadences.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing Finance & Accounting team.
- Set clear expectations and develop future leaders within the organization.
- Foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Who You Are

- A people-first leader who sets high standards, develops talent, and builds a high-performing Finance & Accounting team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in high-growth tech, robotics, or manufacturing.
- Strong command of GAAP, cost accounting, financial modeling, and financial systems.
- Experience leading financial operations in a manufacturing or product-driven environment.
- ERP experience required; Acumatica experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success building scalable financial processes and reporting frameworks.
- High analytical rigor, strong communication skills, and a hands-on leadership style.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior exposure to fundraising, investor relations, or startup ops.
- Background supporting C-level executives or founders.
- Experience planning events, managing logistics, or supporting external communications
Success Criteria
- Accurate & Timely Financials: On-time monthly close, forecasts within target variance, and clean audits.
- Operational Impact: Improved gross margins, reduced COGS, and optimized inventory and working capital.
- Systems Excellence: Effective ERP utilization, automated workflows, and reliable financial data.
- Strategic Partnership: Clear, actionable financial insights that improve decision-making across Operations, Product, Supply Chain, and People Ops.
- Team Performance: Strong development, retention, and engagement within the Finance & Accounting team, with visible leadership bench strength.
