About Lucid Bots
Lucid Bots is an AI robotics company building the world’s most productive and responsible robots. Our mission is simple: extend human reach. We design intelligent machines that take on dangerous, demanding, and repetitive work—so people don’t have to.
Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, we design, engineer, manufacture, and support our products in the United States. Our production-ready robots are deployed by customers around the world to improve safety, increase productivity, and elevate operational standards.
We are one of the fastest-growing manufacturing companies in the United States, recently ranked fourth nationally. Backed by leading investors including Y Combinator (S19), Cubit Capital, Idea Fund Partners, Danu Ventures, and others, we are scaling quickly at the intersection of AI, hardware, and real-world impact.
We’re building more than robots—we’re building the future of physical AI.
Our Core Values and How We Work Together
At Lucid Bots, we’re building something extraordinary - and how we work matters just as much as what we build. These values guide how we hire, grow, and show up for one another.
-
Expedition Behavior - We climb as one. No silos, no “that’s not my job.” We protect the team and share the load.
-
Grow with Humility - We’re relentless learners. We seek feedback, own mistakes, and get better every day.
-
Lift People Up - Humans come first. We care fiercely, speak honestly, and design for real people in real conditions.
-
Build the Extraordinary - We take ownership, reject the ordinary, and run toward hard problems.
We live Above the Line: we take responsibility, create solutions, and shape the future.
If these values energize you, you’ll thrive here. If they feel like too much, this may not be the right climb - and that’s okay.
Goal of This Role
The Finance Associate will help build and maintain the financial foundation that keeps Lucid Bots accurate, forward-looking, and decision-ready as we scale. This role spans both FP&A and accounting — you'll be in the numbers every day, keeping the books close-ready while also helping translate financial data into the insights that drive real decisions.
It's not a siloed role. You'll see how the business actually works, and your work will matter to the people making calls on where we invest and where we grow. If you're someone who gets energy from solving problems in spreadsheets, wants to understand the business behind the numbers, and is ready to grow fast — this is a strong place to start.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and maintain recurring financial reports, budget-vs-actual variance summaries, and departmental spending trackers
- Support monthly and quarterly forecast refresh cycles — gathering inputs, updating models, flagging variances
- Assist with month-end close activities: reconciliations, accrual support, data compilation
- Build and maintain dashboards, reporting templates, and data pulls from financial systems
- Support general ledger accuracy by reviewing transaction coding and flagging discrepancies
- Help prepare financial materials for leadership and internal stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency
Who You Are
- You've built fluency across both analytical finance (FP&A) and transactional finance (accounting) — through coursework, internships, or early-career roles
- You have a foundational understanding of financial statements and basic accounting concepts (debits/credits, reconciliations, accruals)
- You're strong in Excel and comfortable navigating multi-source data sets
- You're organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined about following structured processes
- You communicate clearly — in writing, in a meeting, and in a spreadsheet
- You raise issues early instead of sitting on them, and you take feedback well
What We Expect You to Achieve in This Role
- Reliably deliver accurate, on-time recurring financial reports with minimal rework within the first 90 days.
- Complete assigned month-end close support tasks on schedule and audit-ready by month 4.
- Support monthly and quarterly forecast refresh cycles by gathering inputs, updating models, and flagging variances.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting templates that reduce reliance on ad hoc requests over time.
- Identify at least 2 opportunities to improve reporting accuracy or efficiency and implement them with manager guidance.
Why Join Lucid Bots?

Benefits:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 3% retirement match
- 15 days of paid time off (PTO)
- 11 paid holidays
- Company employee option plan
- Other benefits
Additional Notes
This role is based in Charlotte, NC. Partial hybrid flexibility possible, but significant on-site presence is expected.
We’d Love to Hear from You!
- The Reality: On paper, many resumes look the same. We don’t hire paper; we hire people. While a video is technically optional, it is the single best way to separate yourself from the stack.
- The Promise: This is not a black hole. If you take the time to record it, we will take the time to watch it.
- Why here? Why are you excited about Lucid Bots specifically?
- Why you? What is the one thing about you that a resume can’t capture?
