The Role:
- You will lead and integrate the development of smart charging and home energy management technology, both onboard and offboard the vehicle.
- Your responsibilities will lead and drive system level activities for power electronics including charging, Smart Energy and EVSE including V2H (Vehicle to Home), V2G (Vehicle to Grid)
- Play a crucial role in the development, and enhancement of various electronic systems for electric vehicles including development of requirements, defining system boundaries, and crafting robust system architectures
-You will be at the forefront of cross-functional workstreams and system engineering activities, collaborating closely with product, hardware, software, mechanical, integration, and testing teams.
-Be an integral part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering outstanding electronic products
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in system architecture for electrical systems including power conversion and wireless/wired communication for consumer grade electronic application
- Understanding of national and international regulatory standards bodies (UL, NEC, EN, IEC, SAE or ISO) landscape and their relevance to system architecture and product design
- A background in electronics, and understanding of power electronics topologies(AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC)
- A background in architecting systems based on product requirements for reliability involving PCB design down to MCU specification involving low power wired & wireless communications between local hardware, cloud backends and end user interfaces.
- Good understanding of power conversion topologies and control strategies, switching device characteristics and losses, gate driving circuit design, magnetics, capacitors etc.
- Well-developed team-work and interpersonal skills in a cross-functional environment
- Able to show teamwork to resolve problems and a thought process to drive successful solutions.
- Ability to leverage engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills to demystify complex problem sets into easily distinguishable sub-systems with capability to translate product level L1 requirements into engineering design criteria in the DVP&R process.
- Proven track record from concept creation through production and support for full development and design in the product life cycle.
- INCOSE Certification - Outstanding communication and reporting skills - Have strong ethics, attention to detail and desire to create the very best product
- Excellent writing, verbal and organization skills
Preferred:
- Understanding of Electrical Vehicle systems and high-power application requirements.
- In-depth understanding of electronics design and delivery processes, from concept to mass production.
- Experience working in or with automotive OEMs to deliver power electronics solutions.
- Knowledge of electric vehicle systems and their high-power applications and related requirements.
- Knowledge of Power electronics control software engineering
- Market knowledge of bidirectional charging and home energy management systems globally by associated use cases.
- Has direct relevant experience in Vehicle to Home Home Energy Management Systems development & VPP market participation for Vehicle to Grid.
- Proficiency in debugging and validation of power electronics systems.
- Knowledge of systems engineering approaches and techniques, including System V, FTA and FMEA processes
- Analysis and design trade-off studies of electrical architecture and power converter topologies - Safety Expertise: knowledge of functional safety requirements.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in electronic or electrical engineering
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$140,000 - $205,260 USD
