
Lead Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Automotive Software
Due to significant growth, we are currently seeking Lead Supplier Industrialization Engineer – Automotive Software for our Corporate Supplier Industrialization Team.
Our Corporate Supplier Industrialization team enables the industrialization of innovative products in an extremely aggressive timeline. In this highly visible role, lead the successful development, validation, and industrialization of supplier-provided software. This role is critical in guaranteeing that supplier-developed software meets our stringent quality, reliability, and functional safety standards while aligning with automotive industry regulations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Manufacturing, to drive supplier readiness, improve software development processes, and ensure compliance with APQP and LQP (Lucid Qualification Process) requirements.
You Will:
Perform Supplier Qualification & Development
- Evaluate and qualify software suppliers based on ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO 21434 standards.
- Conduct supplier audits, assess technical capabilities, and drive process improvements.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to define supplier selection criteria and negotiate software development agreements.
Software Industrialization & Validation
- Ensure supplier software meets functional safety, cybersecurity, and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve software defects and ensure timely software updates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with in-house software, hardware, and validation teams to align supplier software with vehicle development milestones.
- Lead supplier engagement meetings and drive software industrialization strategies.
- Support software integration, validation, and release processes.
- Act as the technical liaison between Lucid and its software suppliers.
Continuous Improvement & Risk Mitigation
- Implement best practices for supplier software quality and process improvements.
- Perform risk assessments and drive corrective actions for software-related issues.
- Monitor software field performance and collaborate with suppliers on necessary fixes and updates.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in software industrialization, supplier quality, or embedded software development in the automotive industry.
- Expertise in APQP, PPAP, ASPICE, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity), AUTOSAR, and embedded software development
- Proven ability to manage multiple suppliers and drive software validation and industrialization processes
- Experience working with software suppliers in EVs, ADAS, or autonomous driving systems
- Familiarity with agile development, AI/ML applications in automotive software
- Understanding of software Over-the-Air (OTA) update strategies
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, hands-on and data-driven, creative mindset in problem-solving
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, be part of the solution and be able to adapt to the dynamic working environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Smartsheet’s, JMP, Minitab, JIRA and Tableau is a plus.
