Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager – Wiring Harnesses to lead and oversee the development, design, and production of wiring harness systems for our world-class electric vehicles. This role demands a deep understanding of electrical systems, combined with leadership, project management, and technical expertise. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Build, lead, and mentor a world-class 12V Harness and Electrical engineering team, providing guidance and support to execute vehicle development programs.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, emphasizing mentorship and professional growth within the team.
- Design & Development:
- Manage the design, development, and integration of wiring harness systems, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and quality standards.
- Create industry-leading Low Voltage Electrical systems design and work collaboratively with electrical engineering teams to implement best-in-class smart electrical architecture.
- Utilize CAE-simulation techniques to analyze and optimize wiring harness performance, ensuring structural integrity and overall vehicle performance.
- Project Management:
- Develop and execute project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to deliver wiring harness systems on time and within budget.
- Oversee the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of all harnesses in the vehicle portfolio, ensuring seamless integration with vehicle systems.
- Supplier & Quality Management:
- Collaborate with harness and module suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery of electrical systems.
- Evaluate and select suppliers, and implement quality control processes to monitor and enhance the reliability of wiring harness systems.
- Innovation & Improvement:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to drive continuous improvement in wiring harness design and manufacturing processes.
- Employ and develop efficient tools and innovative approaches to support the development cycle from concept to production launch.
- Collaboration & Integration:
- Work interactively with cross-functional teams, including Body Structures, Vehicle Safety, Vehicle Dynamics, and Manufacturing, to create high-performance designs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to integrate multiple systems efficiently and effectively.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to wiring harness systems.
- Demonstrate profound knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including connectors, electronics packaging, and harness design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Generally, 12+ years of experience in automotive wiring harness or related systems engineering, with a focus on electric vehicles at OEM or supplier level.
- 5+ years of management experience, with proven leadership in multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Strong technical expertise in wiring harness design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes, including multi-material designs and 12V harness systems.
- Experience leading full program cycles from concept to production launch in 12V harness and/or electronic module development.
- Proficiency in CAD software and/or other design tools related to creating and reviewing electrical and wiring design and packaging (e.g. Zuken E3, Siemens EDA (Mentor Graphics), Catia Electrical, PREEVision,…).
- Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage budgets, and deliver projects on schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and succeed in a fast-paced startup environment, with a practical hands-on approach complementing theoretical knowledge.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of technical excellence and successful program execution.
Preferred:
- Experience with Harness Design and PLM lifecycle management in CATIA V6 3D Experience
- A strong desire to create the best product, working as an integral part of a capable team.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to wiring harnesses and electrical systems.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$188,100 - $313,500 USD
