Intern, Project Management, Charging & HV Distribution, Summer 2025
Team Description:
We are looking for a Summer 2025 intern to join our team! We project manage a variety of products associated with charging the EV vehicle. Items such as the on-board charger, the charge port, high voltage distribution harness and many other commodities. The team lead and support items from product strategy, business cases, project financials, concept design through to product delivery (including sourcing and manufacturing). You will be the responsible liaison and coordinator for all key activities associated with the product / project, leading and challenging team of engineers to help execute against strict and challenging timelines.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Engage in managing one or more sub-projects to support the Powertrain Programs, focusing on Charging and HV distribution teams (management projects deliverables such as prototypes, test plans, open issues/tasks, risks and quality resolution).
- Focusing on products that could involve:
- Lucid’s Onboard charger development
- High Voltage distribution harnesses (including charge ports)
- Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment
- DCDC converter
- AC Junction Box
- Power outlets
- Focusing on products that could involve:
- Assists with projects and programs task assigned by Technical Program Managers, and Management team.
- Support and lead Engineering project reviews, as well as drive the engineers towards task completion, allowing successful pass-through program milestones.
- Engages in resource coordination, budget planning, providing strong direction and timelines for deliverables, collaborates and delegates tasks across cross-functional teams ranging from Engineering, Manufacturing (NPI) , Service, Quality, Design Studio, Supply chain and upper management.
- Assist with cross functional teams to build new processes and confluence content to help educate engineers and other stakeholders.
- Measure, analyze, and report on data insights and publish spreadsheets (excel) with useful metrics.
- Coordinate with Engineers to sample and test parts, pushing them to ensure that the best possible design is achieved.
- During the time here, the Intern will learn key project management skills, such as:
- Navigating and coordinating cross-functional teams
- Leading discussions with Supply chain, Test & Validation / engineering and manufacturing teams
- Leading Engineers on prioritizing and leading design solutions (or problem solving)
- Communication and presentation skills (communicating to members of staff of different levels of management)
- Learn to manage projects and deadlines and develop analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to support product planning and prototype planning (components and vehicle level)
- Lead efforts to resolve key project dependencies and establish appropriate resolution paths
- Working with Power Electronics and Mechanical engineers, as well as liaising closely with our software team
- Linking project plans and deliverables
- Helping them organize priorities
- Managing cost / expenditures under their ownership
- Navigating and coordinating cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working on a Bachelors or Master degree in Project Management / Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering preferred
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Excel including basic mathematical features within excel
- Efficient in MS Projects or Smartsheets
- Experience with one or multiple of the following highly desirable: Jira, Confluence, SmartSheet, Tableau
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly both written and orally
- Desire to learn new skills and tools
- Has a mindset that is structured, organized and has the ability to guide / influence those around them
- Good Communicator
Nice to Have:
- Understanding of Power Electronics
- Workings of EV Charging (off-board and On-board charging)
- Understanding of Power and Energy conversions
Education:
- Field(s) of study: Project Management / Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university
- Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)
Program Information:
- Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.
- Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
- Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.
- Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $35 to $48 (subject to changes).
- Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.
- Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
- Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
- Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.

Base Pay Range (hourly)
$35 - $48 USD
