Intern, Manufacturing Production Engineering, Summer 2025
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our General Assembly Engineering Team and perform tasks that will improve the assembly processes. You will be working in a team of engineers with the latest automotive technology to set up or improve current assembly processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principals and be able to work independently and collaboratively to ensure our systems are functioning efficiently.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Work with GA ME team to analyze bottlenecks and put actions in place to break the constraints.
- Work with GA IE team to balance work on the assembly line.
- Learn Lucid systems to connect parts, help troubleshoot MES issues, and maintain work instructions and timestudies.
- Work with GA ME to improve process capability by improving the Physical and Operative standards, such as developing fixtures for the assembly process.
- Learn how to perform R&R gage studies.
- Work with GA ME and the cross functional team on Quality problem solving efforts by contributing with analytic problem-solving skills such as 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar certifications/disciplines to drive continuous improvement.
- Work with GA ME and Launch on work station readiness for new model introduction.
- Support on PFMEA updates for any process change on the lines/stations.
- Develop tooling to improve developer and QA productivity
- Perform system testing and ensure all components are functioning properly
- Develop and write testing scripts and test cases to ensure proper system functionality
- Document the system integration process, including detailed steps and procedures
- Assist senior engineers in analyzing test results and identifying areas for improvement
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure all systems are integrated and functioning properly
- Assist with troubleshooting system issues and identifying solutions
- Communicate regularly with senior engineers and other team members to provide progress updates and receive feedback
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to team projects as needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing and integration activities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Field(s) of study: Electrical Engineering or related field
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree program at an accredited university.
- Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD)
- Knowledge of system testing and integration processes
- Experience developing and writing testing scripts and test cases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Program Information:
- Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.
- Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
- Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Casa Grande, AZ, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.
- Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $34 to $48.
- Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.
- Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
- Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
- Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.
- Medical benefits: Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.
- Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S employment authorization.
Base Pay Range (hourly)
$34 - $48 USD
