
Sr Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Interiors
Due to significant growth, we are currently seeking a Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Interiors Trim & Coverstock our Corporate Supplier Industrialization Team. Our Corporate Supplier Industrialization team enables the industrialization of innovative products in an extremely aggressive timeline. In this highly visible role, the Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer works together with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and our Suppliers to develop ways to deliver challenging designs while at the same time not sacrificing manufacturing requirements for quality.
You must be able to guide upfront design development as well as roll up your sleeves with suppliers to create new manufacturing methods and control strategies to achieve ambitious specifications and ensure flawless execution during launch.
You Will:
- Act as a liaison between internal Lucid teams (Trim engineering, IP/CC/Seat engineering, raw materials engineering) and suppliers to meet Appearance Approval Requirements, Product Validation Testing, and Pre-Production Approval Process (PPAP) for components and materials
- Ensure trim designs align with supplier manufacturing to prevent common quality issues in color and appearance while meeting Lucid's trim engineering expectations and specifications
- Create, manage, and communicate soft trim material quality requirements (AQRs) to Sourcing, Purchasing, Product, and Design teams. Soft trim raw materials include (PVC, Leather, Textiles)
- Identify manufacturing and production defects at suppliers and collaborate with Lucid internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues in fast pace
- Work with global manufacturing teams to optimize Coverstock development, process feasibility, and build operations
- Oversee soft-trim components from initial concept through to production hand-off and during supplier-ramp up
- Knowledge with pattern development software such as Gerber, Lectra, and Accumark
- Demonstrated ability to improve production efficiency by optimizing material usage
- Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Bill of Materials (BOM) development
You Bring:
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability
- 5+ years of assembly plant experience working directly with Coverstocks or similar in a Supplier Industrialization, Craftsmanship, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering role
- Understanding process engineering principles of final Coverstock products (i.e. PVC, Leather, Textiles, …)
- Experience in Quality Systems: PPAP & APQP processes
- Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level
- Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers, peers and other functional areas
- An average of 25 - 30% travel, possibly on short notice
