Color Materials Finish, Design Manager
About the Job:
As a Lucid Color, Material, and Finish Design Manager supporting Industrialization and Creation, you will be responsible for the implementation, development and execution of color, material, and finish for Lucid vehicle production.
As a part of this team, you will oversee and execute the final color, materials, and finish Design vision by collaborating with the supporting teams and external suppliers to ensure successful implementation into production while meeting aggressive program timelines and cost targets. You will demonstrate knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, solid comprehension of CMF design challenges and proven ability to proactively problem solve and strategize to meet the design aspirations. You will build strong relationships with other team members and thrive in an evolving and innovative environment.

Position is located full time in Newark.
The Role:
- Collaborate and strategize with cross functional teams, including Design, Craftmanship, Engineering and Manufacturing, to implement the production of final CMF designs
- Lead the execution of planned designs for production vehicles, including updates and mockups
- Analyze and approve color, material, and finish choices for vehicle surfaces
- Cultivate relationships with suppliers, seeking new materials and technologies
- Oversee BOM management in coordination with CMF teams
- Guide designers in trend forecasting and sustainable innovation
- Support CMF Director in strategy development and analysis
- Foster a positive, growth-oriented work environment
- Set team objectives aligned with business values and individual growth
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of OEM expertise in automotive color and material design or development, with a background in product or textile design (internship and/or co-op experience accepted)
- Proficiency in producing high-quality renderings showcasing CMF proposals and designs, utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator) and 3D rendering and visualization tools (preference for VRED)
- Proven track record of leadership with over 2+ years of experience in leading teams
Preferred:
- Proven experience as a CMF Designer in the automotive industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful production projects
- In-depth knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, and their impact on design
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts to all stakeholders
- High energy, perseverance, adaptability
- Discerning eye for design as a discipline
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Industrial Design, Fine Arts or equivalent with specialization in fashion, textiles, or related field
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$151,300 - $252,100 USD
