The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager Stamping Equipment has a global responsibility to installation and commissioning Stamping lines at Lucid. The Sr. ME Manager will work closely with equipment OEMS, facilities design engineers & internal cross-functional teams to ensure the Stamping Buildings & Equipment are executed to specification.  The position also serves a strong technical resource to the Stamping Operations teams in Arizona and Saudi Arabia.   

Full support of planning and execution of stamping operations to ensure efficient and reliable production is achieved to deliver world class products on time and cost effectively. Additionally, will support during the development and industrialization phases and drive sound business decisions throughout the product life cycle.

You Will:           

  • Direct and lead the activities of Stamping Manufacturing Engineering(s) as well as develop equipment needs, capacity plans and large CAPEX budgets to support the design, development and implementation of Stamping equipment for Lucid
  • Lead technical design meetings for building construction with Facilities Engineering group
  • Coordinate equipment installations with facility construction teams
  • Create and modify Microsoft Project schedules
  • Ensure the project team is prioritizing tasks and completing them to meet project milestones
  • Report out project updates to Executive Leadership
  • Understand product design changes on manufacturing equipment
  • Mitigate risks, as well as to recognize optimization opportunities
  • Manage internal Lucid Customers, assesses needs regarding priorities, deadlines, and quantities, driving suppliers for on time deliverables
  • Manage on-site installation planning with equipment integrators
  • Track and manage equipment trials for SOP
  • Run launch activities for all stamping equipment
  • Knowledge of GD&T and component print interpretation
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical control systems
  • Expert experience in large stamping press repair and install practices
  • Profiecient in Controls & Automation for Stamping equipment
  • Generate RFQs for Stamping equipment and vet OEM proposals with Purchasing
  • Develop and execute FAT/SAT requirements for equipment buyoffs with integrators
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
  • Support vendor selection for all applicable equipment related to the manufacturing line
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors
  • Travel 25%-50% (US and International) required

You Bring:

  • BS. degree, ME, EE, IE or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification preferred or a technical experience with +10 years’ experience required
  • 10+ years of experience with leading heavy stamping equipment engineering, RFQs, manufacturing, installation and commissioning, preferably with OEM or leading ME organization within high volume stamping required
  • Strong knowledge of stamping manufacturing processes, maintenance practices and equipment such as laser blanking, tandem and transfer lines. Preferably experience with Schuler Laser Blanking and Schuler Tandem lines
  • Experience with aluminum Class A, BIW and Closure equipment specification & installation experience required
  • Knowledge of material properties, mechanics of materials and how these materials react when subjected to varying stamping conditions
  • Proficient with PLC & Drive Programming with Siemens TIA Portal & Beckoff preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem solving along with technically mentoring engineers  
  • Experience with working with diverse suppliers from different countries
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Effective skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with a wide range of individuals from varying economic, social, and educational backgrounds in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical, time management and analysis skills
  • Must be capable of working with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and executive management on a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to remain current with state-of-the-art technologies and practices related to the metal stamping process as well as develop innovative solutions when necessary
  • Must have the ability to travel internationally
  • Proficient with MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, CATIA is a plus
