The Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies and processes for Lucid's next-generation vehicles. This role requires a highly experienced leader with deep expertise in automotive manufacturing, process engineering, automation, and innovation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end development of advanced manufacturing solutions that will enable high-quality, scalable, and cost-effective production at Lucid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team, focusing on developing new manufacturing technologies and improving current processes to support high-volume vehicle production.
- Collaborate with Product Design, Process Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure manufacturability of components and systems, focusing on quality, efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Identify and implement advanced manufacturing techniques, including automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, and digital manufacturing technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other industry-leading methodologies.
- Oversee the integration of new technologies into manufacturing lines and ensure seamless scaling from prototype to full-scale production.
- Build and maintain relationships with equipment suppliers, technology partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and innovation in manufacturing processes.
- Lead capital expenditure planning and manage budgets for new technology investments and plant upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure a high-performance and collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, including hands-on experience with advanced manufacturing processes, automation, and process development.
- Proven leadership experience, managing large cross-functional teams and driving advanced manufacturing initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments, preferably in electric vehicles or automotive industries.
- Expertise in manufacturing technologies such as automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, digital simulation, and data-driven process optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of driving innovative solutions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.

Base Pay Range (Annual)
$200 - $265,000 USD
