The Role: PLM Configuration and Solution Engineer

Lucid Motors is seeking a talented and driven PLM Configuration and Solution Engineer to play a pivotal role in optimizing our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Configuration Management processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to analyze, refine, and implement efficient business processes, ensuring seamless integration and effective change management across the company’s lifecycle functions. This role is ideal for a proactive, solution-oriented professional passionate about precision and efficiency in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering

  • Identify and support process improvement initiatives, gathering requirements and optimizing system capabilities.
  • Develop technical requirement documents by collaborating closely with business and technical stakeholders.

Planning and Design

  • Support in Architecting new systems and design improvements to existing processes, playing a key role in process planning.
  • Prepare process maps and procedure documentation to support analysis and process evolution.

Execution

  • Analyze results and generate compelling reports and presentations to recommend process improvements.
  • Contribute to the definition and development of process architecture and system enhancements.

Support and Training

  • Train and support end user’s post-implementation, Offer production support, documentation updates, and reporting.
  • Support User Verification Testing (UVT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, business readiness analysis, and change management activities leading up to go-live.

Product Configuration and Change Management

  • Manage product BOM CAD structure for engineering design to support downstream requirements, ensure accurate variant codification and BOM/CAD model completeness.
  • Drive CAD/BOM reviews and support Design Engineers in ECRs, Change Actions, and CAD Release processes.
  • Take ownership of BOM Option Coding, Date Effectivity assignment, and Global Product Configuration Filter validation and creation within 3DX.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align and approve product configurations, Supporting accuracy checks across design, production, and service BOMs.

Integration and Synchronization

  • Facilitate PLM integration with enterprise systems (SAP), ensuring accurate Variant Configuration definitions and robust BOM product definition for manufacturing.
  • Work closely with Software Engineering and Configurations teams for vehicle software update and Engineering Change Management from JIRA to 3DX.
  • Support PLM-ERP synchronization, BOM extracts, and post-process validations for Engineering, NPI, and Purchasing.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5-10 years of experience in CAD/BOM, Change, and Configuration Management within engineering/manufacturing; automotive experience preferred.
  • Strong background in PLM/CAD tools (3DEXPERIENCE 2018x or higher preferred) and ERP tools (SAP experience beneficial).
  • Experience in JAMA Requirements management or equivalent and  Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) implementation is highly desired.
  • Solid understanding of documentation control, CAD/BOM structure management, and best practices in change management.
  • Proven skills in project management, process optimization, and business process analysis.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating across multiple teams and engaging with mid/upper-level management.
  • Demonstrated ability in data-driven decision-making and systematic problem-solving.

Job Complexity:

  • Engages with diverse and complex challenges, exercising judgment in selecting appropriate solutions.
  • Regular interaction with senior internal and external personnel.

Supervision:

  • Operates with minimal day-to-day instruction, self-driven in task prioritization and execution.

Education 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or other) or related field.    
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
 
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$133,400 - $166,800 USD
