We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Industrial Engineer to join our internal logistics team in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing processes related to material flow, from unloading to delivery at production lines, ensuring operational efficiency and optimal use of human and material resources. Interface with Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging, Logistics Operations, EH&S during launch to develop Material Flow processes and systems. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects.

The position will develop, recommend, and implement changes which will result in the improvement of manufacturing processes and or product quality. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced. manufacturing environment is critical to your success at Lucid Motors.

You Will:

  • Input and report out KPI data on a weekly basis.
  • Conduct detailed time and motion studies for internal logistics processes, including material unloading, storage, picking, and line delivery.
  • Determine manpower requirements for each process based on actual productivity data and operational demands.
  • Develop simulation models to forecast workforce needs under different production scenarios.
  • Use simulation tools to analyze future scenarios and design strategies that optimize resources and cycle times.
  • Design and optimize material delivery routes from the warehouse to production lines, considering factors such as cycle times, distances, and available resources.
  • Design efficient workstations to ensure a continuous material flow and minimize cycle times.
  • Develop warehouse layouts to maximize space utilization and facilitate material handling, including storage, picking, and staging areas.
  • Propose improvements in physical layouts based on flow analysis and process simulations.
  • Oversee key processes such as material unloading, sequencing, storage, line feeding, and returns.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient material supply in accordance with automotive industry standards (Just in Time, Just in Sequence).
  • Implement systems to monitor route compliance and adjust in real time according to production needs.
  • Develop requirements for Material Flow equipment: fork trucks, tuggers, dollies, and lineside display.
  • General Optimization of floor space, logistics, delivery, and display equipment in the assembly plant.
  • Identify areas of improvement to increase operational efficiency and reduce waste
  • Develop business cases as needed for Material Flow installations.
  • Contribute to internal document development, standards, best practices, lessons learned and training modules.

  • Manage and optimize logistics processes using SAP, including modules related to inventory management (MM), material planning (PP), and warehouse control (WM)
  • Ensure accurate inventory records and material flow tracking through SAP
  • Create and maintain detailed process documentation, study results, and improvement recommendations
  • Present executive reports to management with optimization proposals based on data analysis
  • Work closely with warehouse, production, quality, and IT teams to ensure implemented improvements align with overall plant objectives
  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk, AutoCAD Plant layout, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), Smartsheets
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive layout/design
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Master’s Degree in one of these fields is preferred
  • Six Sigma certification is preferred
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement projects (Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with SAP, including MM, PP, and WM modules
  • Understanding of logistics standards and regulations relevant to the automotive industry
