
Technical Fellow, In-Vehicle Infotainment Systems Architect

We are looking for a visionary Infotainment Architect to push the boundaries of what’s possible inside the vehicle. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the creation of next-generation in-cabin experiences that delight, inspire, and connect. From immersive audio and stunning graphics to seamless UX and intelligent interfaces, you will shape the heartbeat of our Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) platform, and set a new standard for the way people interact with their cars.
You Will:
- Lead the architecture and implementation of the In-Vehicle Infotainment System.
- Collaborate with UX/UI, acoustic engineers, display teams, ADAS, software/hardware, and cybersecurity teams, as well as third-party partners.
- Architect and optimize audio pipelines, including DSP solutions for noise cancellation, audio tuning, and in-cabin sound enhancement.
- Lead graphics pipeline benchmarking and optimization for high-performance rendering across multi-display environments.
- Ensure seamless integration with Android Automotive OS, AOSP, hypervisors, and real-time embedded platforms.
- Interface with safety subsystems to ensure fail-safe communication and graceful degradation of infotainment-critical functions.
- Drive the integration of AI/LLM technologies and NPU acceleration for personalized, context-aware experiences.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Ensure architectural alignment with automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE) and cybersecurity best practices (e.g., ISO 21434).
- Ensure OTA capability, modular SDV design
- Guide build systems, integration pipelines (Yocto, CI/CD)
- Collaborate with product and program management teams to ensure timely delivery of infotainment features in an Agile development environment.
You Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in vehicle infotainment system design, embedded multimedia platforms, or mobile development.
- Proven expertise in DSP, audio routing, graphics rendering, and real-time embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of Android Automotive OS, AOSP, and embedded development environments.
- Experience architecting infotainment communication with vehicle systems via CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams.
Great to Have:
- Experience developing AI/ML-enhanced infotainment features.
- Familiarity with augmented/virtual display systems for next-generation in-cabin experiences.
Education Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Ph.D. preferred with specialization in infotainment systems or multimedia architectures.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$246,800 - $361,900 USD

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
