
Sr. Engineer, Engineering Tools and Support
Job Summary
The Senior Engineer, Engineering Tools Support will provide advanced technical support and expertise for various engineering tools and systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize tool usage, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Support & Maintenance

Provide expert-level support for engineering applications, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Handle production support tickets and manage SLAs in systems like JIRA Service Desk or ServiceNow.

Develop and maintain documentation for engineering tools and processes.
Software Asset Management
-
Manage and procure software licenses from software supplier partners.
-
Provide application license support, including purchasing, renewing contracts, reviewing utilization metrics, and forecasting future requirements.
Engineering & CAD/PLM Tools

Required: CATIA | Preferred: 3DExperience / CATIA V6
-
Work with internal CAD Quality, Development, and Solutions teams to understand tool capabilities and limitations.

Identify issues and facilitate the development and implementation of solutions.

Participate in validation and deployment of major system and tool upgrades, including:

3DExperience (CATIA, ENOVIA)

Cameo
-
MathWorks
-
National Instruments
-
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Security, and Cloud teams to efficiently deploy software tools.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tool performance and user experience.

Stay up to date with the latest developments in the automotive and software technology industries.
Simulation & Compute Resource Management
-
Manage HPC job submissions, troubleshoot errors, and improve compute resource efficiency for CAE Simulation teams.

Working knowledge of CAE simulation tools, such as:
-
ANSYS (Fluent, Mechanical, Electronics, LS-DYNA)
-
Altair (Hyperworks, OptiStruct, HyperView, SimSolid, Inspire)
-
GT-SUITE or similar

Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering tools support or a related role.

Strong knowledge of engineering tools and systems (CAD, PLM, simulation software).

Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Strong customer service mindset with the ability to empathize and provide effective solutions.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred

Working knowledge of 3DExperience platform, including:
-
Management of roles, CATSettings, CAT Environments, DSLS licensing, user creation, and security context.

Understanding of 3DExperience data model and proficiency in querying using MQL (a plus).

Experience with 3DExperience integrated environments (CAVA, 3DCS Variation Analyst, RAMSIS).

Proficiency with Linux servers.

Experience with scripting and automation.

Base Pay Range (Annual)
$112,000 - $140,000 USD
