
Staff Global Supply Manager, Battery Pack Structures
The Staff Global Supply Manager supporting the battery pack mechanical structure manages all company business with a group of critical external partners and is the key internal interface with Engineering, Finance, Public Policy, and Manufacturing to deliver high quality, cost effective and on-time materials into Lucid’s supply chain. In this role, the Staff level Global Supply Manager will develop, implement, and execute the supply strategy for Lucid’s battery pack mechanical commodity and will lead the establishment of Lucid’s global supply chain strategy, support cross-functional teams during the development and industrialization phases, and drive sound business decisions throughout the product life cycle.
You Will:
- Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify potential suppliers with the right qualifications to meet Lucid’s product requirements and program timelines
- Create RFQs and review, analyze and clarify proposals from suppliers to develop sound sourcing and business recommendations balancing cost, quality, lead-time and technical considerations
- Develop, maintain and leverage overall supplier relationships and act as the key point of contact for all interactions with supply partners
- Thoroughly negotiate favorable contracts including terms and conditions, parts pricing, tooling costs and Engineering Services (NRE / EDT)
- Work as the key supply chain focal point with Engineering to release parts into production by facilitating the sourcing and procurement process from design concept through mass production
- Manage supplier development and tooling timelines, part availability for prototype builds/start of production and develop solutions to mitigate supply gaps, delivery delays and commercial issues that arise
- Negotiate Direct/Directed supply agreements that are optimized for maximum commercial advantage for Lucid
- Create multifaceted commodity strategies and business cases to present to executive leadership
- Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers to perform business and program reviews
You Bring:
- First principals problem-solving mentality with a laser-focused mentality on driving results
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, or similar
- Minimum of 8 years of experience; or Masters’ degree; or equivalent work experience
- Entrepreneurial mindset; Resilient, Resourceful, and Solutions-Oriented
- Experience sourcing sub-assemblies or individual parts including stampings, extrusions, castings, fasteners, welding, and aluminum/steel sheet
- Strong interpersonal skills with a team-first mindset that creates a vibrant, cohesive environment to help resolve problems, cascade best practices and deliver optimal results
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Passion for results, strategy, and sense of ownership that leads to effective hand-on execution.
- Creative, calculated risk taker with the ability to manage difficult suppliers, mitigate unforeseen problems and resolve disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal staff
- Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities
- Proficient in Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, ERP systems (SAP or equivalent)
Nice to Haves:
- MBA or Masters’ Degree in Technical Discipline
- Extensive experience in the mechanical structures commodity space, ideally in an automotive or high-volume industry
- Complex contract structuring expertise; directed sourcing (Tier 2/3) experience, material/currency trading or analysis experience, etc.
- Familiarity with EV battery pack concepts and technology roadmaps, including key players and industry trends

Base Pay Range (Annual)
$135,975 - $199,430 USD
