
Sr. Buyer, Service Parts
Lucid Motors is seeking a motivated and experienced Sr. Buyer, Service Parts to join the European Service Parts organisation (After-Sales). The Sr. Buyer manages company business with a growing group of suppliers and is a key internal interface with Service Program Operations. The Sr. Buyer must identify, develop, and manage the global Service supply chain, work with stakeholders and vendors to obtain the direct materials needed for our Service operations. They will help establish our global Service supply chain strategy, manage end-to-end lifecycle, supplier management, and support cross-function teams in execution. A successful Sr. Buyer is highly analytical, detail-oriented, experienced in negotiations, and can build strong relationships to set the foundational processes to ensure the highest customer experience.
The Role:
• Responsible for procurement of direct materials (i.e spare parts, accessories, tooling) to support Global Service Organization
• Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify potential suppliers with the right qualifications to meet Lucid’s expectations and timeline
• Create RFQs, review, analyze and clarify quotations from suppliers and develop sound sourcing
• Thoroughly negotiate favorable contracts including parts pricing, tooling costs, Engineering Services (NRE / EDT) and MSAs.
• Maintain overall supplier relationships and act as point of contact for all commercial issues, including internal report-outs summarizing sourcing status, parts availability and cost status
• Gather information regarding data attributes and share with internal teams as needed (e.g. Lead times, MOQ’s, TCO, etc.)
• Work with Quality to evaluate and maintain a supplier scorecard in a certain frequency (e.g. semester, yearly basis)
• Work with SQE and suppliers to order parts that have successfully gone through PPAP; Be involved in APQP, Run@rates, etc.
• Elaborate purchase orders, contracts, releases on time through the current electronic system to suppliers to cover supply for active materials; work closely with Global Planning team to know which material will need to be procured in the S/M/L term and cover the lifecycle of the material
• Identify key market trends for improvement in Service supply chain
• Proactively find, evaluate and develop new market options as dual/alternate sources
• Responsible to meet (and exceed) cost savings and cost avoidance targets for the Service organization
• Support various cross-functional projects to support and improve material sourcing and/ or global Service supply chain (i.e Field Procure to Service Centers, Direct from Supplier transition)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Planning, Production GSM, Engineering, NPI, Quality, Packaging, Finance, etc.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in Procurement / Purchasing in an automotive or manufacturing environment, for Direct Materials (preferred)
• Commodity management and product launch experience preferred.
• Product launch experience preferred with a high emphasis on knowledge of quality principles, product development processes, and data analysis.
• You have innovative ideas you will bring to the table to help optimize cost and schedule
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Passionate for results, strategy, and hands-on execution. Creative, calculated risk-taker with the ability to manage supply issues and resolve supplier disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal partners.
• Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities
• Proficient in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, ERP systems (SAP)
• Ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively.
