Position Summary:
As part of the Strategy and Business Development team, the Sr. Director, Business Development position is responsible for strategic business development initiatives as aligned with the company’s enterprise strategy. This is a highly dynamic role that will drive strategic projects and high-priority initiatives for our executive team.
Our ideal candidate will bring prior strategic deal-making experience and approach their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
You Will:
- Focus on business development initiatives with third parties as aligned with business objectives and needs
- Develop a strategic plan to identify potential cross-industry collaborations that can drive growth, innovation, and competitive advantages for the company
- Own the entire business development process from end to end - from sourcing and financial modeling to negotiation and close, including joint ventures, licensing agreements, and commercial contracts
- Serve as the extension of Lucid executive team with external stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. engineering, legal, finance, operations, and others) to ensure seamless execution and integration of new business initiatives
- Cultivate a strong professional network within the automotive and technology industry; actively seek out new business partnership opportunities
You Bring:
- High-performance work ethic with strong business acumen and ability to execute on a wide range of projects
- 15+ years of prior business development experience with proven record of leading multi-million-dollar commercial deals or partnerships with executive-level stakeholders
- Interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a “peer” with Function VPs
- Strong leadership skills and attributes
- Strong understanding of commercial agreements and legal concepts; ability to present complex sets of information to varying levels of audiences
Nice to Have:
- Automotive experience within OEMs and/or Tier 1 suppliers
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering or other relevant fields
- Prior experience and professional network in automotive, mobility, and relevant adjacent sectors
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$230,100 - $337,480 USD
