
Jr. Repair Technician (Wire Bonding) , 1st Shift
We are currently seeking a Jr. Repair Technician, Wire bonding for our Powertrain department. This position requires an experienced professional with relevant experience in Wire bonding equipment. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
You Will:
- Day to day coverage of production line, including rapid response of out-of-control processes
- Investigate and identify bonding defects using test data
- Support implementation of process changes to improve process and product yield
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with wirebonding equipment and ensure bond quality using qualification methods like pull tests, shear tests, and intermetallic mix analysis
- Troubleshoot pattern recognition issues such as misalignment and system errors
- Troubleshoot and implement process improvements for laser cleaning, wedge tool wear, and bond alignment
- Provide inputs for process enhancements and contribute to continuous process improvements
- Data collection and analysis for process control and quality assurance
- Support program adjustments, based on data analysis
You Bring
- 1-2 years of experience working with wire bonding equipment preferred
- Skilled to effectively manage bonding equipment and perform bonding operations with precision
- Technical knowledge of ultrasonic wire bonding, including equipment setup and calibration
- Experience with wire bonding machine setup, including wedge tools, cutters, and parameter adjustments for optimal bond quality
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills for resolving bonding issues, tool wear, or process inefficiencies
- Ability to review programs, make adjustments, and provide inputs for process enhancements
- Knowledge of pattern recognition systems and their role in bond placement and alignment
- Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
- Availability for occasional off-hours calls
- Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude
- Comfortable with initiating and taking ownership of projects
Preferred
- Experience with pattern recognition equipment
- Experience with surface cleaning processes
- Experience creating tables and charts for data analysis
- Ability to multitask
- Performed troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of cell types and battery modules
- Performed minor repairs on machinery as needed
- Followed safety protocols while operating machines and equipment
- Monitored production line operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Troubleshot technical issues that arose during assembly process
- Identified defective parts or components and removed them from production line
- Cleaned up work area at end of shift to maintain safe work environment
