
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
We are currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Paint for the Paint Shop in an Automotive Assembly Plant. Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of Paint process experience in an Automotive Manufacturing facility and be capable of working alone or in a team setting Our ideal candidate will possess both mechanical and electrical familiarity with equipment and processes typically found in today’s manufacturing environment in the Paint Department and will possess a diverse understanding of project management.
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Paint will report to the Maintenance Manager of the Paint Department.
This position will support 2nd shift which runs from 4pm - 5am.
You Will:
- Support the multi-shift, Paint Shop Operations Team by doing the following:
- Troubleshoot paint process issues and develop and implement continuous improvement projects as needed.
- Coordinate major breakdowns of Paint Shop Automation between Maintenance team and respective supplier and/or off-site support personnel.
- Develop error-proofing strategies for processing new and current Lucid model vehicles. Support the Paint Shop goals and values regarding throughput, quality, cost, and safety.
- Forge excellent cross-functional relationships with Engineering, suppliers, Quality and Manufacturing departments within the plant.
- Coordinate launch activities and trials with both Product and Plant Engineering and implement new model and mid-cycle enhancements to support Lucid Motors’ product portfolio.
- Interface with the Paint Maintenance team to implement changes to existing equipment to effect process and throughput improvements.
- Update controls and mechanical drawings as required. Maintain local project records.
- In a team environment, participate in the design and engineering of future paint shop expansions as need.
- Plan and coordinate equipment installation in both a greenfield and brownfield setting and report to the Lucid Motors’ Project Manager and/or their designate and keep Paint Shop management informed of project activities.
- Enforce Lucid Motors’ Controls and Equipment Specifications and Standards.
You Bring:
- BS Degree in Engineering or STEM Degree and/or equivalent relevant professional experience in Paint Body Shop
- 5-8 years of professional work experience in manufacturing environment including Paint Shop in automotive industry (preferred)
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
- Experience in project management and budgeting
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of training and program management best practices
- Strong presentation skills & ability to lead a maintenance team autonomously.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors
- Rockwell ControlLogix PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
- Ethernet network troubleshooting
- Proficient in Autocad drawing 2D
- Navisworks 3D modeling
