We are currently seeking a Material Handler.  This role of this will be to ensure company environmental standards of health and safety are maintained. Assign duties and report upon the work of varying numbers of Operators working in a warehouse environment.  To provide effective leadership, communication, motivation and training/development. Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to and manage performance through an agreed set of Key Performance Indicators. Ensure team members are trained in warehouse processes and that required process conditions are met, and standardized work instructions are understood and followed. They will be required to carry out any further tasks as deemed necessary by shift Supervision.

You Will:

  • Safety of all employees, visitors, customers, and contractors in the facility.
  • Perform pre-shift and end-of-shift checks and correct or escalate discrepancies.
  • Confirm that PPE is available and worn.
  • Create the daily job rotation schedule.
  • Coordinate focused on-the-job training to increase the team's skillset and create versatility, track all training and certifications.
  • Learn all operations within the team.
  • Ensure training is provided by certified trainers and proper training methodologies are practiced.
  • Plan any classroom training required for performing the process to carry out Lucid Production System audits covering Manual Handling, Driving Standards and Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and communicate focus areas for the team.
  • Confirm that standard work is accurate, accessible, and being followed consistently by all.
  • Monitor 6S conditions throughout the shift, coach as needed, and provide all needed 6S materials.
  • Further ,escalate issues that require additional support.
  • Follow response procedures to respond to quality issues.
  • Communicate and take appropriate action to address safety incidents and risks.
  • Conduct daily team huddles to communicate key information.
  • Set team targets that support the group's goals.
  • Recognize individual and team accomplishments.
  • Lead the team on movement of raw materials and finished goods, working in conjunction with Logistics Management to maintain accurate inventory controls and disposition of materials to support the Manufacturing Production and requirements.
  • Run the warehouse check in/check out process and ensure that no one except staff removes inventory.
  • Monitor team movement of goods interdepartmentally and ensuring that this is tracked and recorded systematically.
  • Utilize docks, warehouse layout, and route truck loading patterns to minimize waste.
  • Ensure the optimal inventory levels of full goods are maintained in order to fulfill daily needs
  • Lead and monitor team to carry out accurate inventory stock takes through standard inventory management processes (ABC and cycle counts, physical inventory, error investigation)
  • Lead team conduct wall to wall inventories, mandatory cycle counts inventory audits.
  • Read schedules, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed; records amount of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Carryout inventory and restock compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures and programs.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within warehouse to comply with company standards; uses computer to enter records; compiles worksheets or tickets according to company specifications.
  • Ensure team delivers items to their proper destinations; obtains signatures to ensure proper documentation of delivery/receipt; coordinates loading of vehicles for delivery.
  • Lead team to carry out stock consolidations based on depletion percentages by location.
  • Monitor and update inventory housekeeping.
  • Control and ensure returns process for damaged or returnable products and materials.
  • Embrace changes in process to improve the warehouse area and operating efficiency. Continuous improvement is key.
  • Monitor and control inventory variances, overseeing inventory adjustment validation and resolution process.
  • Assure proper maintenance of inbound and outbound shipment records.

You Bring:

  • Material handling equipment (MHE) certification.
  • First Aid/Fire Marshall qualification (desirable).
  • Flexibility in work schedule is required (to include evenings and weekends, as needed)
  • Basic SAP knowledge
