Sr. Manager, Manufacturing – Battery
The Sr. Manager, Manufacturing – Battery will lead production and maintenance operations across Battery Module, Pack, and Enclosure lines. This role is accountable for ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient manufacturing while driving equipment reliability, operational excellence, and team development. The Sr. Manager will provide strategic direction, oversee daily execution, and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people (SQDCP) goals.
You will
- Manage end-to-end execution for Battery Module, Pack, and Enclosure production.
- Lead production supervisors, maintenance teams, and support staff.
- Ensure daily targets for JPH (Jobs Per Hour), throughput, and delivery are met without impacting General Assembly.
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Promote a safety-first environment and ensure compliance with EHS standards.
- Maintain world-class quality, focusing on first pass yield and minimizing rework/scrap.
- Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee maintenance to achieve ≥75% equipment availability across all lines.
- Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Standardize equipment care and troubleshooting practices.
- Develop long-term capacity and scaling plans to support growth.
- Partner with Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and TPMs online balancing, automation, and bottleneck resolution.
- Optimize labor, cost, and resources to meet financial objectives.
- Build and mentor front-line leadership from Team Leads to Production Managers.
- Strengthen collaboration between Production and Maintenance teams.
- Lead performance management, workforce planning, and succession initiatives.
You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field.
- 8+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Proven success managing high-volume Battery Module, Pack, or Powertrain assembly.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, equipment reliability, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated results in SQDCP metrics.
- Experience leading diverse teams and developing leadership pipelines.
