
Material Handler – Inbound
The Role
The Material Handler – Inbound plays a critical support role in receiving and managing incoming parts and materials. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and committed to upholding warehouse safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or individuals with up to 2 years of experience in warehousing or supply chain functions.
Responsibilities
Inbound Operations
- Assist in unloading shipments and inspecting deliveries for damage or discrepancies.
- Check received items against purchase orders or delivery notes.
- Label and tag incoming parts for identification and traceability.
- Transport materials to assigned storage locations using pallet jacks or manual handling.
Inventory & Documentation
- Support accurate data entry in Smartsheet or SAP, ensuring real-time visibility of stock.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and other inventory control methods.
- Alert the supervisor or inventory controller of any mismatches, missing items, or expiry concerns.
Consumables & Stock Handling
- Assist in handling consumable materials like sanding paper, tape, paint, and hardener, including labeling and shelf-life tracking.
- Follow instructions for safe handling and storage as per SOPs.
Team & Safety Collaboration
- Work closely with warehouse clerks, supervisors, and quality inspectors during receiving and material handling tasks.
- Adhere to EHS protocols including PPE requirements, safe lifting techniques, and equipment use.
- Participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, or material handling preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse tools, handheld scanners, or WMS is a plus.
- Basic English reading and writing skills (for documentation and labels).
- Physically fit; able to lift up to 20–30 kg and work in variable warehouse conditions.
