Responsibilities:
- Assist with the continuous improvement of EHS Management System elements pertaining to manufacturing operations teams including Logistics, Stamping, BIW, Powertrain, GA, and Paint; and the EHS Engineering and Construction teams.
- Ensure Lucid’s ancillary manufacturing support facilities operate in compliance with International and local Environmental regulations.
- Identify, assess, and control environmental risks and ensure alignment with organizational risk priorities.
- Serve as the environmental technical expert, providing support and advice to functional teams assuring compliance.
- Manage application development and submittal processes for environmental-related permitting.
- Coordinate and prepare environmental reports required by ECZA, NCEC and any authority.
- Perform root cause/corrective action reviews on environmental incidents.
- Engage with Lucid Leadership and representatives from regulatory agencies on audits and regulatory inquiries.
- Oversee wastewater processes as technical expert ensuring compliance to permit parameters.
- Monitor and analyze the developing trends and changes in regulatory compliance laws, rules and regulations.
- Develop, revise, and improve programs for industrial battery management and disposal.
- Develop, sustain, and improve spill prevention control and countermeasure (SPCC) plans.
- Assist in planning for changes in physical facilities, reviewing new or modified equipment, and new manufacturing programs to meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Support EHS program maturity through sustained engagement across all EHS disciplines as a key team contributor and leader.
- Support construction and new site activities with environmental site assessment management; threatened or endangered species determinations; historic property searches; brownfield or similar building material screenings for hazardous materials, polychlorinated biphenol, asbestos and lead; and green building considerations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, or Environmental-related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CHMM or CEM strongly preferred; Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is a plus.
- 7+ years of direct experience in related industries (automotive, machine integration, semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.).
- Minimum 7+ years of experience working in environmental engineering and/or compliance management.
- Experience implementing robust environmental controls, training and policies to ensure compliance and risk mitigation in a complex industrial setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multidisciplinary projects in a rapid-growth environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, engineers, legal counsel, technical specialists, operations leaders, and management across the organization.
- Strong functional knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Previous experience preparing air emission, TRI, Tier II/HMBP, hazardous waste, storm water, and wastewater periodic compliance reports.
- Manufacturing is a 24/7 operation; must be available to support occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
- Experience managing regulatory inspections and responding to inspection reports.
- Highly knowledgeable in NCEC regulations and processes.
- Experience managing air permit compliance programs.
- Has implemented or managed EHS Management of Change processes.
