
Sr. Engineer, Facilities - Mechanical
The Senior Facility Mechanical Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of Lucid’s AMP-2 facility mechanical systems. You will design, implement, operate, and continuously improve HVAC, chilled and hot water, compressed air, fire protection, and other mechanical utilities that support manufacturing operations. You will lead mechanical projects, resolve complex technical issues, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability, energy efficiency, and operational safety.
You Will:

Lead the design, specification, and implementation of mechanical systems to meet production and operational demands.

Oversee day-to-day operation and maintenance of HVAC, chilled water, hot water, compressed air, and fire protection systems.

Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs in partnership with the maintenance team to maximize uptime and efficiency.

Support facility readiness for equipment installations, shutdown coordination, and facility upgrades.

Review technical drawings, P&IDs, and contractor submittals to ensure compliance with project and engineering requirements.

Conduct performance analyses on mechanical systems and drive energy-saving initiatives.

Ensure adherence to local regulations, international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA), and Lucid internal policies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Construction, EHS, and Maintenance to meet plant readiness and production objectives.

Manage contractor performance, spare parts strategy, and mechanical project delivery.

Participate in budgeting, cost control, and forecasting activities related to mechanical utilities.

Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the facilities organization.
You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (PE license or equivalent preferred).

5+ years of experience in facility mechanical systems within industrial or manufacturing environments.

Proven expertise with HVAC, piping systems, pumps, air compressors, thermal utilities, and fire protection systems.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and P&ID interpretation.

Strong knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA).

Experience implementing preventive/predictive maintenance and energy efficiency initiatives.

Familiarity with BMS/BAS system integration and CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo).

Demonstrated project management and vendor coordination skills.

Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.

Certifications such as LEED, energy management, or commissioning are a plus.

Experience in cleanroom or automotive manufacturing environments is preferred.
