
ERP System Admin Team Lead
Position Overview:
The ERP System Admin Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the administration, operation, and technical architecture of the organization’s ERP landscape. This role leads a team of ERP administrators and works closely with functional, development, and infrastructure teams to ensure the stability, security, and performance of ERP system. This role plays a key part in planning and executing system upgrades, migrations, installations, and performance tuning, while ensuring adherence to IT best practices, compliance standards, and change management protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of ERP administrators and technical consultants.
- Oversee task allocation, team performance, and resource planning to ensure effective support and project delivery.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing, technical training, and adherence to best practices across the technical team.
- Manage the daily administration of the ERP system, including components like servers, databases, cloud platforms, monitors, gateways etc.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability, ensuring uptime and service level compliance.
- Perform routine tasks such as client copies, user administration, background job scheduling, and transport management.
- Plan and execute ERP installations, support packages, kernel upgrades, enhancement packs, and system refreshes.
- Coordinate and lead version upgrades and migrations
- Ensure proper integration and operation of ERP on supported operating systems and cloud platforms.
- Oversee application of SAP security patches and kernel updates.
- Participate in planning and execution of disaster recovery (DR) testing and business continuity processes.
- Work closely with functional, development, and infrastructure teams to align technical planning with business objectives.
- Enforce and follow ITIL-based change management protocols for all administrating activities.
Skills:
- Deep expertise in managing and administering SAP systems including S/4HANA, PI/PO/Integration Suite, Fiori and BTP.
- Proven experience with installation, upgrade, support packages, enhancement packs, and kernel updates for SAP environments.
- Strong knowledge of SAP database HANA including backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
- Experience working on Linux, UNIX, and Windows Server environments supporting SAP applications.
- Ability to design, maintain, and scale SAP system architecture for high availability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Understanding S/4HANA architecture, system conversion, and migration best practices.
- Proficiency in managing the SAP transport landscape and adhering to ITIL-based change control procedures.
- Familiarity with SAP deployments on RISE with SAP, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience leading a team of SAP BASIS administrators or technical consultants, including performance management and skill development.
- Skilled in managing escalations, service requests, and collaboration with SAP support and third-party vendors.
- Skilled in creating clear technical documentation, operational procedures, and reporting for audits and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands on experience in SAP BASIS module
- At least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role overseeing SAP projects
- Proven experience in managing full lifecycle SAP implementations (Planning to go-live and support).
- SAP certification is a must, ideally in BASIS, HANA or BTP.
- Prefer certified professional such as TOGAF, PMP or ITIL
