Summary:

The ERP Development Team Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of the organization’s ERP systems. This role involves managing a team of developers to deliver customized solutions and integrations that meet business requirements while adhering to established quality standards and best practices. The incumbent will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and project management to ensure timely and efficient delivery of ERP projects, support system upgrades, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SAP developers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of customizations, enhancements, and integrations within ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, functional consultants, and project managers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ensure coding standards, best practices, and documentation are followed consistently.
  • Manage development lifecycle activities including version control, code reviews, and release management.
  • Stay updated with latest ERP technologies, tools, and trends to continuously improve development processes.
  • Support ERP upgrades, patching, and migration activities by coordinating development tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide project status, risks, and technical recommendations.
  • Integrate the standard ERP solution with third party cloud or on-premises systems by following the standard principles of APIs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Manage transport requests and change management processes within the SAP environment.

 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands on experience in SAP ABAP, Fiori, CPI & MBC modules
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role overseeing SAP projects
  • Proven experience in managing full lifecycle SAP implementations (Planning to go-live and support).
  • SAP certification is a must, ideally in ABAP, Fiori or CPI/Integration Suite.
  • Prefer certified professional such as TOGAF, PMP or ITIL
  • Expert-level proficiency in SAP ABAP development, including reports, interfaces, forms, enhancements, conversion and workflows.
  • Knowledge of ABAP programming models (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model - RAP) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of key SAP modules (e.g., MM, EWM, SD, FI, PP).
  • Experience with Fiori app development, SAPUI5, and SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration and security.
  • Experience in onboarding banks and managing bank interfaces. Familiarity with host-to-host connections, SWIFT, EBICS, and other payment communication protocols
  • Expertise in creating and optimizing CDS views for data modeling and reporting.
  • Development and consumption of OData services for SAP Fiori apps and integrations.
  • Knowledge of SAP Gateway services, API Management, and integration with SAP Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with RFC, BAPIs, SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) and Integration Suite.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and optimizing ABAP and HANA-based solutions.
  • Strong analytical thinking for solving complex business and technical challenges.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team of developers working on S/4HANA projects.
