
Sr. IT Infrastructure Project Manager
Summary:
The Sr. IT Infrastructure Project Manager oversees all phases of IT infrastructure programs—including networking, low voltage/passive cabling, firewalls, servers, virtualization, and datacenter environments—ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role is accountable for project governance, risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement, driving successful outcomes for large-scale infrastructure initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Project Manager keeps stakeholders engaged throughout requirements gathering and project delivery to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects from initiation to closure.
- Deliver infrastructure projects (networking, cabling, firewalls, servers, datacenter) end-to-end.
- Define scope, schedule, cost, quality, and manage changes.
- Build and update project schedules in Primavera/MS Project; visualize plans.
- Maintain and approve all project documentation.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Oversee network design, procurement, implementation, and testing.
- Manage cabling/site surveys, standards, and compliance.
- Govern firewall, VPN, and network segmentation policies.
- Supervise server builds, virtualization, and directory services.
- Coordinate datacenter readiness and commissioning.
- Deliver infrastructure for manufacturing process lines, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency
- Control budgets, forecasts, and approve invoices.
- Lead procurement and vendor management.
- Set and supervise quality checks and acceptance tests.
- Manage risks and issues; report to sponsors.
- Plan and execute changes, cutovers, and post-implementation reviews.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and regulations.
- Communicate status and updates to stakeholders.
- Track KPIs and drive improvements.
- Mentor and lead project team members.
- Apply PMP/PMBOK and agile practices; integrate project management tools.
- Oversee transition to operations and knowledge transfer.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, MBA in IT or a related field.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent (e.g., PRINCE2, ITIL).
- 10+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure project management, including full project lifecycle delivery.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing vendors/contractors.
- Strong technical background in networking (LAN/WAN), low voltage/passive cabling, firewalls, servers (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and datacenter infrastructure.
- Proficiency in project management tools: Primavera, MS Project etc..
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex information clearly to stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including risk management and issue resolution.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, procurement, and vendor management.
- Knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and security standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail, documentation, and process improvement.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to mentor and lead project teams.
- Experience in operational handovers, training, and knowledge transfer.
