
Sr. Specialist, Trade Compliance
The Sr. Specialist, Trade Compliance will be part of a Regional Onsite Team. He or She is a key member of the import/export compliance team which facilitates the efficient and timely movement of goods in the Middle east region. The dynamic nature of this team requires individuals who can think quickly, act independently, and proactively solve problems before they arise. Strong service provider management skills and effective communication are required.
You Will:
- Ensure import/export requests are resolved quickly to prevent disruptions in supply chain
- Advise internal stakeholders on import and export restrictions and customs compliance related impacts to supply chain
- Ensure 100% adherence to laws, regulations, and corporate policy - This includes internal policies and procedures and external government regulations
- Review and approve shipping documents and commercial invoices
- Learn and disseminate Middle east customs and compliance laws and regulations
- Work upstream with supply chain planning teams on customs compliance matters
- Responsible for daily tracking of operational metrics
- Effective collaboration and solid communication with internal and external parties
- Continuous process improvement mindset: identify gaps in current processes and procedures. Provide recommendations to improve operational processes
- Ensures that all commodities that are received, produced or transferred are properly classified in accordance with applicable international export controls
- Conduct counterparty screening against applicable restricted
- Maintains a centralized export/import compliance record-keeping system and communicates record-keeping requirements to TC Personnel
- Conducts periodic audits and monitoring to verify compliance for existing customs entries
- Reports on any suspected or actual violation of international trade regulations and conducts investigations to confirm; providing users with advice on how to mitigate possible violations
- Communicate and manage relationship with local broker and suppliers
- Present and follow up on requests with governmental entities and multiple customs bodies
You Bring:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or Law
- 4-7 years of experience in customs and trade compliance
- Hands-on experience in Saudi Customs’ FASAH platform and ZATCA systems
- Knowledge of SASO/SABER and SFDA conformity programs preferred
- Professional certifications in trade compliance are a strong plus
Key Skills
- Expert knowledge of international trade compliance, customs regulations, and export controls
- Strong program/project management skills (PMP, or equivalent preferred)
- Hands-on ERP system (SAP) implementation experience in trade compliance modules
- Proven track record in continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies)
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities
