
Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Dyno
As the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer for Drive Unit Dyno, you will lead the development, commissioning, and optimization of dynamometer testing systems for electric drive units. This role is critical to validating the performance, durability, and efficiency of motors and gearboxes, ensuring readiness for high-volume production and alignment with Lucid’s quality and innovation standards.
You will:
- Lead setup, calibration, and operation of dynamometer systems for drive units
- Collaborate with the testing and engineering teams to conduct performance tests, including torque, speed, thermal behavior, and efficiency
- Perform testing, diagnose and analyze test data, and resolve issues with dyno systems and drive units
- Work with engineering teams to validate new drive unit designs and testing configurations
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures for dyno testing
- Ensure consistency, repeatability, and compliance with industry standards
- Integrate dyno systems with auxiliary test equipment and line automation
- Conduct cycle time studies, line balancing, and layout engineering
- Support FAT, TTO, and MRD milestones for launch events and programs
- Assist maintenance and reliability engineering teams in sustaining dyno equipment
- Maintain documentation for test setups, calibration records, and data logs
- Interface with Product Engineering, NPI, Logistics, and Facilities teams
- Participate in CAPEX planning and execution for drive unit testing infrastructure
- Engage in weekly syncs and committee reviews to align on quality and supplier readiness
You bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, STEM, or a related field, or equivalent relevant education and experience
- 5–8 years of experience in powertrain testing or manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with dynamometer systems and electric drive units
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (8D, Six Sigma, DOE)
- Experience in launch, automation, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
