
Manager, Supplier Quality Engineering, Chassis & Fasteners
The Global Supplier Quality team ensures seamless industrialization, launch, and long-term excellence of innovative products. As Manager Supplier Quality Engineering Chassis & Fasteners, you’ll lead a global team of Quality Engineers and Managers through the full lifecycle—from early design and supplier development to launch, mass production, and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Head of Global Supplier Quality (USA HQ), you’ll collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and supplier networks to deliver complex designs with uncompromising quality. You’ll drive scalable manufacturing solutions, robust control strategies, and proactive quality systems that support flawless execution and sustained performance.
The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and globally mobile—ready to lead across NA, Asia, EU, and KSA. Proven experience managing global teams and suppliers is essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
You Will
- Develop and execute quality engineering industrialization across Chassis & Fastener components and drive strategies and programs that are aligned with overall Lucid Motors objectives. Ensure tactical and strategic allocation of SQE’s, Leads and Managers to optimize their utilization. Conduct periodic reviews to assess program effectiveness for your commodity focus, while identifying areas for improvement. Ensure timely and effective communication-escalations to Leadership.
- Build and lead a high-performing Supplier Quality team of Engineers, Leads and Managers with a strong focus on collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Provide hands-on training. coaching and mentorship to develop the skills and expertise of SQE team members. Establish and communicate team OKRs-Goals-KPIs to create a culture of accountability and ensure its compliance by conducting disciplined 1:1, 365 review and annual performance reviews.
- Actively collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful NPI of Exterior and BIW commodity parts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Supplier Quality, Corporate Quality, Design & Engineering, Craftmanship, Program Management and Supply Chain to conduct supplier assessments, implementation of supplier quality plans, including DFM/A, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and successful Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Lead regular reviews of team readiness for NPI, instill robust processes for risk mitigation strategies.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with suppliers, ensuring their understanding of and commitment to meeting our rigorous supplier development and quality expectations, including APQP/PDP/NPI/PPAP deliverables. Regularly analyze supplier performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, implement data-driven action plans to drive supplier improvement projects. Lead supplier risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure quality consistency during new product launches and into the mass
- Lead supplier collaboration and performance during mass production by ensuring SQE resources and processes are in place to resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions. Partner with cross-functional teams to minimize plant disruptions from supplier-related problems.
- Provide strategic leadership by influencing stakeholders, managing supplier quality budgets, and representing the Chassis & Fasteners team in executive reviews. Travel globally (25–75%) on short notice to Lucid Motors and supplier sites. Stay current on industry trends and regulations and deliver regular performance and risk reports to senior management.
You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in an Automotive, Electronics or high-volume manufacturing business and at least 5+ years of experience as a global supplier quality leader for Chassis or Fastener components. Previous Greenfield project experience preferably with EV start-up would be an asset.
- 3+ years of people manager experience leading a team of Managers, Leads and SQEs with proven track record of global team development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, proven program management capabilities and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Hands-on supplier industrialization, supplier quality toolbox (ISO, IATF, DFM, GD&T) and automotive core pillars (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA) experience. Demonstrated experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments using industry standard methodologies.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills, hands-on and data-driven, creative mindset in problem-solving
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, be part of the solution and be able to adapt to the dynamic working environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA and Tableau is a plus.
- BS in Engineering, Postgraduate in Business Management a plus.
- Certification preferred – Project Management, Lead Auditor, American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.
