
Engineer, Seating Systems
We are currently seeking an Engineer, Seating Systems. This position is responsible for designing and developing seating systems for a world-class vehicle in terms of both styling and function. Our ideal candidates exhibit a can-do attitude and approach their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to learn quickly, and strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Your Role:
- Be a significant contributor to a world-class Seating System engineering team.
- Create industry-leading Seating Systems, with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, ergonomics, and functionality.
- Contribute to the packaging, engineering, release, and launch of Seating commodities and Systems in the Lucid portfolio.
- Work interactively within a cross-functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, placing priority on the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual system.
- Collaborate with seating team suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on-time delivery of Seating systems.
- Employ and develop effective tools and an innovative approach to supporting the development.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience as a technical engineer in seating development projects.
- Must have been part of at least 1 full programs from start to finish.
- Proven knowledge of complete vehicle seating systems and/or structures with a demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, FMVSS, ECE & ADR.
- Understanding of automotive seating industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier competencies.
- Hands-on experience developing Seating Systems DVP&Rs & DFMEAs.
- Experience establishing/improving technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP.
- Experienced in using CAD to create 2D/3D concept drawings, seating components, packaging layouts, and DFM studies, specifically with CATIA 3DX.
- The ideal candidate would be someone who has experience working in a cross-functional team involving multiple vehicle systems.
Preferences:
- Experience with foam, trim, injection molded plastics, and tooling highly preferred.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environment.
- A solid knowledge of structural performance, ergonomics, comfort, safety standards, and restraint systems.
- A strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team.
- A practical hands-on approach to complement the theoretical.
- Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) to communicate effectively with the different vehicle systems.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/materials engineering or in a relevant discipline.
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$113,800 - $156,530 USD
