
CAD Engineer, Lighting Systems
As a CAD Engineer specializing in Lighting Systems, you will be responsible for the design and development of lighting components, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop, evaluate, and implement lighting designs for various products in current and upcoming projects.

Responsibilities
- Create detailed CAD models and drawings for products, components, and systems using CAD software.
- Manage parts from initial design through prototype phase and into serial production.
- Support the creation of engineering documentation, such as Technical Specifications (TES), Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), and Design Verification Plans (DVP).
- Manage the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM).
- Manage product life cycle in PLM system.
- Support CAD development for individual lighting components, such as injection-molded parts and wire harnesses.
- Verify and approve final component and product designs before release.
- Communicate with internal interfaces and departments, including data transfer.
- Actively participate in the iterative process with the Lucid design/studio team to deliver an optimal balance of function, form, and cost.
- Develop assembly strategies, including guiding, locating, and mounting to meet vehicle build objectives.
- Interpret CAE simulations from Lucid internal attributes and Tier 1 suppliers to integrate necessary product optimizations
Qualifications
- 3 plus years of engineering experience in automotive sector.
- Proven experience in design/development engineering in lighting devices or injection molded parts.
- Knowledge of plastics, composites, and basic sheet metal.
- Knowledge of injection molding and plastic bonding processes.
- Experienced with CATIA V5 and V6 (NX, Unigraphics is acceptable).
- Knowledge in Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and other technical documents.
- Knowledgeable in GD&T fundamentals.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Technology knowledge for tooling, electronics production and testing are a plus.
- Self-driven in CAD development, Part Design and Generative Shape design.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Demonstrate understanding of design process from initial concept stages through tooling released and production launch.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or related field of study (Master is a plus)
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$93,300 - $128,260 USD
