
Jr. Manufacturing Technician, 2nd Shift
The Jr. Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for providing support to daily operations, minimizing production downtime, and solving basic system issues by identifying failures and reporting them to the right stakeholders.
Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. She/he must have the ability to work with various departments across the General Assembly. They will also be required to work closely with engineering, quality, and suppliers in various aspects of the overall manufacturing process. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are an absolute requirement to establish effective working relationships within the company and outside.
You will :
· Day-to-day coverage of the production line, including rapid response to out-of-control processes
· Investigate and identify defects reported by the assembly line
· Perform initial assessment for the issues reported in the line such as part assembly into the e-cube (for part confirmation), assembly/disassembly process (for assembly confirmation), part swap (AB-BA), etc.
· Support with the implementation of process changes to improve process quality and flow (PCR’s)
· Validate and confirm the effectiveness of every process change performed in the line.
· Provide inputs for process enhancements and contribute to continuous process improvements (error proofing, fixtures, tools, etc.)
· Monitor in real time the quality indicators of the assigned areas, to provide feedback to workstation
· Create and maintain quality alerts related for the ‘Critical To Quality’ processes and for the repetitive quality issues of the assigned areas
· Perform quick analysis using engineering tools, such as MES, BOP Extract, Engineering drawing review, etc. – after being trained on the use of these tools.
· Modify/Update work instructions for the line using the engineering software related to this – following the standard defined by manufacturing, prioritizing safety, quality, and delivery.
You bring :
· High School diploma, GED or equivalent
· Minimum (1) year of experience working within automotive or manufacturing
· Hands-on troubleshooting skills for resolving assembly issues or process inefficiencies
· Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
· Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills
· Ability to use measurement devices such as calipers, flush gauge, gap gauge, and rule.
· Availability for occasional off-hours calls
· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

· Standing-Frequent/Intermittent up to 8 hours per day
· Walking-Frequent/Intermittent up to 8 hours per day
· Sitting-Occasionally/Intermittent up to 2 hours per day
· Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally/Intermittent
· Carrying up to 50 lbs. occasionally/Intermittent
· Pushing/Pulling between 50-100 lbs. occasionally/Intermittent
