Location: Newark, CA
Team Description:
The HV Electronics and Charging team within Power Electronics designs and tests the hardware responsible for both charging of the battery and supplying various non-traction loads in the vehicle.
We are currently seeking a Power Electronics Intern for our team. This position requires a talented engineer with passion and experience to develop and test electrical designs. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Evaluation of specific hardware or circuit solutions
- Exploratory hardware testing and debugging hardware issues
- Post-processing data
- Develop and validate various electronics products for electric vehicles
- Be part of prototyping, testing and validation of electronics products
- Contribute to drivetrain and vehicle level integrations
- Work closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, software engineering, and supply chain to bring the product into mass production
- Be part of a team to develop amazing electronics products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid background in electronics components and circuits
- Hands on experience of Power Electronics hardware development and troubleshooting
- Experience in PCB design, using schematic capture and layout tools
- Experience with various equipment (Oscilloscope, probe, power supply, load, power analyzer, etc.)
- Debugging/validation experience in MCU, OpAmp, AD/DA, SPI, CAN, etc.
- Hands-on experience in hardware development and troubleshooting
- Data processing and clear and concise documentation
Nice to Have:
- Experience in EMI testing and/or FPGA development is a plus
- Some programming experience
- Participation and leadership in Formula SAE Electric, Baja SAE, Solar Car or other extracurricular automotive teams is a major plus!
Education:
- Field(s) of study: Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or related field
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program focused on Power Electronics at an accredited university
- Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)
